What you’ll do 

We are looking for a Principal Engineer to be Open’s first engineer on the ground in London and lead our expansion into the UK and Europe.

As a Principal Engineer, you will be a member of our Technology leadership team, reporting to the GM of Technology. You will bring core technology and domain expertise to inform technical strategy and architecture vision. You will lead and drive adoption of best practices that enable technology teams to thrive. You will work closely with Product, Design, Data, and various stakeholders to deliver business and customer value each step of the way. You will grow engineers in their career, and shape the future of our technology platform and roadmap. In this role, you will:

• Design and implement solutions to complex and novel problems, including adoption of new tools, migration to new platforms, remediate critical/wide-impacting issues, and remove obsolete systems and code.
• Review code and technical designs from across technology teams, championing and establishing well-architected patterns and best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement and technical uplift initiatives for the technology organisation.
• Provide expert consultancy across the business, with a particular focus on scalable, reliable, performant, and secure cloud application solutions.
• Develop and evolve Open’s technical roadmap, documentation quality, and platform health keeping both present and future business needs in mind.
• Proactively collaborates with others to share knowledge and resolve issues.
• Identifies, gains support and ensures execution of technical direction and strategy for Open’s technology teams.
• Keep abreast of technology, security and privacy trends to lead informed evolutions of Open’s technology and architecture strategy.

As part of this role, we will support you to relocate to London, UK after spending your first 4-6 months with the team in Sydney preparing for Open’s launch into the UK and Europe.

What you’ll bring

• Deep knowledge in Python (Django), AWS Cloud infrastructure, and Docker.
• Experienced in Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and Git+ workflows to support code review and release of software.
• Proven experience in architectural patterns across products that contain Microservices and Message/Event Driven Architecture.
• Expert practitioner of SOLID principles, and can coach their adoption through code reviews.
• Strong experience operating distributed production systems at scale, with well-placed instrumentation and excellent debugging capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A Bachelors/Masters degree in computer science or a related field is preferred, but not necessary.
• Experienced collaborating effectively with teams across time zones, and geographics. 

• 1+ year of experience as a people manager in a product-led company.

Role location

This role will start in Sydney, Australia, with expectation to transition to London, UK after 4-6 months. Open will support the visa sponsorship needed for this relocation.

What you will be doing

We're hiring a Lead Mobile Engineer who will lead the continued development of the SDK as we expand into the market. We have a proof-of-concept for iOS and Android, and we're in the process of deploying it to our first production customer.

This is an exciting role, which will include:

• A considerable R&D effort as we reuse optimisation strategies from our web product, and invent new ones suitable for the mobile ecosystem.
• Support in the extension of our current successful product monetising publisher web traffic, to offer mobile via an SDK, so publishers can integrate into their apps

At Naked Wines, Customer Service Team lead means you’re 2IC (2nd in Charge) of, and responsible for the largest team in the organisation; all inbound and outbound customer service, Customer Happiness Team: CHT.

As the Financial Crime Team Lead, North America, you will conduct complex investigations, lead a team of investigators, oversee investigations, provide expert guidance, and collaborate with key stakeholders to combat financial crime effectively.

You will be accountable for overseeing the day to day NA Financial Intelligence Unit’s (FIU) operational obligations of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) which also include authorizing submission, contributing and supporting complex matters or escalated investigations and developing the knowledge of your team through training and coaching.

You will also be accountable for ensuring compliance with AML/CTF regulatory obligations, review and updates to internal policies/procedures as well as supporting improvement initiatives across the Global FIU Team.

As the Financial Crime Team Lead, you will drive a culture of excellence and empowerment, being confident to make risk-based decisions based on OFX policies and holding the team accountable to performance expectations.

What you will do:

• Conduct 2nd level investigations from alerts generated by OFX monitoring systems, as well as alerts raised by OFX’s operational teams
• Overseeing the day to day North American FIU operations which also includes authorizing submissions and conducting 4-eye checks in line with OFX’s AML policy
• People leadership fundamentals, including monthly 1:1 performance reviews, constructive and respectful ongoing feedback
• Providing coaching, training, and ongoing support to the Transaction Monitoring Analysts and Financial Crime Investigators on red flags & indicators of ML/TF typologies
• Make continuous improvements/recommendations to processes, procedures to refine operational processes, including completing periodic reviews
• Support the review of AML/CTF regulatory changes that impact FIU operations & implement any operational changes as required
• Coordinate workflow on a daily basis, to ensure FIU workforce planning requirements and team objectives are achieved and are in accordance with SLAs & KPIs
• Triage manual ML/TF referrals and liaise with the relevant staff across OFX where required to complete inquiries
• Work in collaboration with data and analytics colleagues within the Compliance team to contribute or identify rule refinement, enhancement of controls opportunities related to detection scenarios or emerging risks
• Communicate insights, trends or findings on investigation cases that are escalated to internal stakeholders, Compliance and Risk partners
