As a Operations Manager you will be responsible for motivating, inspiring and engaging a team of Team Leaders to ensure each team is able to deliver the required performance and outcomes for our growth departments. You will be able to be creative in your leadership approach and we encourage you to trial new ideas and think outside of the box.  

This will be a hybrid work model based in our VIC Docklands location!

 You will be responsible for the maintenance and delivery of;   

• Commercial performance across your direct reports and influencing the wider portfolio 
• End to end management of all associated costs to deliver the program
• High level of client engagement; Ability to engage with stakeholders
• Collaborate and engage with all key stakeholders, driving operational excellence
• Providing continuous coaching and feedback to enhance each team member’s capability  
• Analyse and manage all campaigns to ensure ongoing success  
• Manage team members schedule adherence  
• Confidently manage all team productivity and service metrics  

Who are we?

Job Summary

As a Data Center Technician, you will be part of a team that is at the core of our Equinix Operations department, providing 7/24/365 support to the Data Center and conducting circuit maintenance, installations and advanced testing. You will also be responsible for the daily upkeep and operation readiness of Equinix’s data center environment.

Responsibilities

• Installation, termination, testing and labeling of all cross-connects (CAT6, Fiber, MDF phone line) in the Data Center

• Perform remote hand services for customers

• Troubleshooting circuits with use of OTDR and BERT Equipment

• Hardware installation including: shelves, power strips, rails, cable management, and customer equipment

• Report current status via the ticketing system, shift reports, and email

• Manage multiple concurrent interdisciplinary projects and ability to work in a team

• Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain collocation space cleanliness

• May perform other duties as assigned

• Completes all assigned training in a timely manner

• Supports customer satisfaction through timely and precise orders

Qualifications

• Advanced written and verbal English skills

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills

• Positive attitude who enjoys working in a team

• Ability to perform manual handling, climb ladders and lift 25 kilos

• Must be flexible to work shifts including nights, weekends and public holidays

• IT or Telecommunication qualification – degree or diploma preferred

• Ability to learn fast and work autonomously

• This is an entry level role where we accept new to career and graduates

• ensure shift activities are operating in accordance with applicable safety and company procedures
• undertake training & development activities to support and upskill staff
• conduct regular site walks to provide proactive support and guidance to staff
• plan, prioritise and execute continuous safety and operations improvement activities for your team
