As a Senior Blast Engineer in our Built Environment team, your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the city's landscape. This role is your chance to channel your knowledge and enthusiasm into a variety of challenging projects, focusing on blast analysis and design. This role offers you the opportunity to apply your knowledge and passion as you work in a diverse and award-winning team on the design of some of Sydney’s most interesting buildings and structures. This role will not only involve blast analysis but also extend to various facets of protective design and security, including progressive collapse, site perimeter security, and operational security, ensuring a comprehensive approach to public safety and infrastructure resilience.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical security/protective design consulting services for new and existing buildings. This can include blast design, site layout, progressive collapse, and design of vehicle barriers.
• Prepare blast threat mitigation strategy reports in conjunction with security advisors and based on threat dependent blast assessment and measure to reduce risk to life safety.
• Perform calculations to determine blast-loading environments.
• Perform nonlinear, dynamic analysis of building structures and façade systems using finite element analysis software such as Strand7, LS-DYNA, Ansys.
• Provide recommendations to reduce or eliminate the probability of structural collapse including blast protection of critical elements to the desired level of protection.
• Provide advice regarding explosive blast-effect predictions and glazing hazard assessments.
• Interface with and present to internal and external clients.
• Be a recognised expert in Blast Design analysis and provide subject matter expertise to our internal stakeholders and clients.

Although not essential the ideal candidate would have:

• A Security Licence (Class 2A) as required by the Security Industry Act, 1997
• Hold the appropriate security licencing for the relevant state or territory.
• A university degree qualification in civil or structural engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant blast engineering related experience.

What will you do?  

This role sits within our Power Generation, Energy team. Based in Sydney this role offers you the opportunity to apply your knowledge and passion as you work in a diverse and award-winning team on the design of some of Sydney’s most interesting projects, which also include solar, wind, battery energy storage, transmission & distribution and rail power projects.

• Working with the Power Generation team, you will apply your sound knowledge and electrical analysis and design experience with two or more years local experience across energy projects. 
• Proficient in relevant Australian Standards and capable of providing design solutions and documentation to support energy projects for various development types from feasibility, conceptual to detailed design. 

• Ability to work autonomously and develop quality electrical calculations, drawings, reports, technical specifications and other design documentation. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Use your ability to initiate and build relationships with both your peers and clients to push forward the boundaries of what is possible. 
• Creative problem-solving skills to continually finds ways to overcome challenges and obstacles. 
• Enjoy collaborating with colleagues nationally and internationally, as we utilise our people across ANZ and beyond to solve our clients’ problems.

The Customer Service Manager is a critical role in our business, being the driving force of our brand promise of Security and Customer First value by managing and delivering a world class security and customer experience. As the Customer Service Manager you will be on the ground managing the day-to-day operations of our Customer Service teams in multiple sites.  In Sydney we currently have three sites (Macquarie Park and Artarmon)

You will work collaboratively with your team and stakeholders across the wider business to create an environment that promotes continuous improvement in security, the customer experience and operational excellence.

In this role you will not only be a manager but a leader and mentor to your team members by empowering them to be the best that they can be. You will also manage all recruitment, training and performance management activities for your teams.

This is an initial 12 month Fixed Term position.
