Cappa Construction & Maintenance is a civil construction & Asset maintenance company operating throughout metropolitan Sydney and regional NSW, we specialise in civil construction and the remediation of major infrastructure assets.
The role
Cappa Construction & Maintenance is currently looking for a Solid Plasterer to join our team. Duties will include but not limited to:
Key responsibilities
• Cleaning and Preparation of wet areas like bathrooms, balconies, roofs and etc.
• Fixing pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings.
• Mix and apply coats of plaster and cement, according to blueprints, architect’s drawings, or oral instructions, using devices as rollers, brushes, trowels.
• Thickness test on the membrane to get the right thickness and result after the material cures.
• Roughens undercoat with scratcher to provide bond for succeeding coats of plaster.
• Water test with the duty to find any leak if in the case there is one.
• Application of sheet membrane.
• Use wet plaster and sealants to cover intersections and nail holes and smooth out rough areas; and straighten and level angles, corners
• Crack Injections in basements to stop leaks.
• Flashing replacement.
• Transport materials to and from work sites and safely operate a variety of tools and equipment
• Lifting (15kg) and Transportation of materials to and from work sites and safely operate a variety of tools and equipment

Requirements
• Cert III or at least 3 years full time work experience in lieu of a qualification
• Knowledge of residential and commercial/industrial practices and processes of the construction trade.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to analyse and use date to inform all decisions.
• High level of flexibility and a positive approach to the challenging demands of the role;
• Australian citizens and permanent residents of Australia will be preferred.
