About this opportunity

The Purpose of this role is to coordinate safe, efficient, and effective processes in Thermoforming and Extrusion at the PACT Packaging - Broadmeadows plant. This includes capturing and coordinating information to support production performance improvement, administering a 5S program and administering production worker training. 

The Production Coordinator will provide support to the Production Manager including development and introduction of new production initiatives.  

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Manage the forecast compilation process, which includes owning the short-term weekly plan and the long-term forecast (three or more months)
• Capture and document production performance, provide analysis and improvement options.
• Develop and maintain a team that has the required skills to achieve best practice performance
• Improve overall business performance at key times.
• Assist with new product introductions.
• Investigate thermoforming quality issues that maybe related to material issues

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

• Supervisory experience - Essential
• Plastics Industry Experience & Thermoforming experience - Desirable not essential
• Continuous improvements knowledge, best practice - Lean, Six sigma & Good Analytical skills
• Recruiting and training experience
• Computer skills. Moderate proficiency with Excel and Word. Capable of learning and using SAP
• Strong service ethic & Attention to detail.
• Strong clerical and administrative skills.
• High standards of workplace management - leadership; housekeeping.

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Analytical Chemistry and Air Quality team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Laboratory Supervisor and Coordinator. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

The Analytical Chemistry and Air Quality team are responsible for all areas of environmental sample testing management at the Port Kembla manufacturing facility. Leading at team of ten Analysts and Project Support Officers you will proactively deliver safety, performance and development activities.

What Will You Do?

You will demonstrate your leadership skills and support your team, whilst building effective relationships, both internally and externally you will:

• grow and mentor your team to develop and enhance their technical capability
• ensure all testing methodology and routine maintenance is performed to our laboratory accreditation standards
• Coordinate and maintain schedules for routine and non-routine sampling activities
• coordinate laboratory maintenance and improvements and take any necessary corrective actions
• Deliver continuous improvement outcomes in the supply of sampling and testing services
• successfully contribute to a safe working environment

More About You

With your leadership experience, you’ll have the ability to make calculated decisions while working in a fast-paced environment. You will also have: 

• a tertiary qualification in science and applied sciences (majoring in chemistry);
• Front line leadership experience.
• a deep understanding of laboratory practices, EPA environmental licences and plant processes
• experience and knowledge in relation to the duties of the Analysis and Compliance Testing Team
• the capability to perform complex tasks and continuous improvement projects in a fast paced environment
• the ability to deliver outcomes through productive relationships

The Role

 This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright and flexible Transport Coordinator to join our team in Girraween on a full-time permanent basis.

 To excel in this role, you will need to have good knowledge of the road freight industry and a strong customer service focus.

 The Position

• Full-time permanent position
• Monday to Friday 8AM – 4PM
• Organising & writing consignment notes
• Arranging local, regional and interstate deliveries and run sheets
• Tracking and uploading proof of deliveries
• Customer service and data entry
• Releasing forward orders
• Assisting Sales representatives and other staff with queries
• Relief in nominating shipments.
• Answering sales/marketing queries and requests
• General administrative and filing duties for the Logistics department

About you

• Australian/NZ Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
• Exceptional time management and communication skills; verbal and written.
• You will have previously worked in Logistics administration, Customer Service, or an office support role. There you have experienced liaising with a variety of people including customers, transport/shipping companies and across teams/functions.
• Computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
• Flexibility and the ability to think on your feet.
