About the role
We are seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to join us in any of our Australian Offices (Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Canberra or Perth). As a member of the technical support team, you’ll interact directly with clients and other members of the Datacom teams to support technology-based solutions. You’ll be responsible for the support of server infrastructure, within contracted time frames and service level agreements. This support will involve remote assistance over the phone and ad-hoc onsite visits when required and participate in an on-call roster for after-hours support.
This role requires Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency preferably with baseline/NV1 Clearance. Candidates without citizenship or permanent residency need not apply.
What you’ll do
As the Associate Systems Engineer this is an excellent technical opportunity, joining a fantastic team of peers with opportunity to take your career to new heights! You will be part of our extensive Operations business who support each other working collaboratively across locations. You’ll be providing technical maintenance, support services within agreed service levels along with maintaining technical documentation. You will also be using tools and processes to deliver services to customers to ensure their service level agreements are met, proactively managing their infrastructure and driving service process improvement.
What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role you’ll bring at least 3 years experience as a System Administrator with Windows Server, infrastructure applications, and cloud technologies.
Your technical experience should include:
- Administration of Windows Server
- MS server operating functions, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, ADFS, DHCP, DFS,
- Managing virtual environments utilising infrastructure such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V
- Management of physical server environments such as Cisco Unified Computing (UCS)
- Sound knowledge of backup and disaster recovery methodologies using tools such as Veeam, Netbackup and CommVault
- AWS and Azure certification
- Exposure to Linux technologies
Your customer focus and communication skills will be a strength, along with an ability to develop and maintain productive internal and external relationships, partnerships and networks. We are keen to hear of your troubleshooting, problem-solving experience, your understanding of public cloud platforms and agile operations.
