The Role

At DigiRen, a Senior Cloud Consultant is an experienced Cloud Operations leader with experience in designing and implementing enterprise-level cloud operating models. In this role, you will work for or on behalf of customers to help them understand, plan and implement best practices around productising, managing and operating scalable Cloud platforms. As a Cloud FinOps Specialist at DigiRen, you will join an inclusive and welcoming team of Cloud leaders who are among the best in the business. You will work with our customers to define and establish/improve their cloud financial management practices to assist them in realising the maximum business value of cloud. This may include operating & uplifting the customer’s cloud financial management function until the customer is able to staff/resource the function appropriately. We are looking for people at consultant or senior consultant level for this role and are flexible with where the role is based (either Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne).

Position Responsibilities

As Cloud FinOps Specialist at DigiRen, you will:

• Help our clients to define their strategy and operating model for cloud financial/cost management based on best practices/frameworks, namely FinOps (but also others, such as TBM)
• Implement FinOps functions/practices for clients, including but not limited to, cloud billing/invoice management, cloud cost chargeback/showback (including tagging to facilitate cost attribution), cloud forecasting/utilization tracking, and cloud cost optimisation (rightsizing, decommissioning idle/unused resources, power scheduling, reserved instances/savings plans, etc).
• Assist clients to implement or enhance cloud financial management tooling, including COTS products (e.g. Apptio Cloudability, VMware CloudHealth, CloudCheckr) and native tooling options (e.g. AWS Cost Explorer/Trusted Advisor, Azure Cost Management) to support their cloud financial management outcomes.
• Support clients in commercial negotiations with public cloud providers to improve rate optimisation (through various discount programs and incentive schemes).
• Work with various client stakeholders (cloud engineering/operations teams, cloud user groups) to embed cloud financial/cost management (FinOps) practices into their day-to-day operations, therefore helping to accelerate client outcomes (i.e. cloud cost reduction/optimisation).
• Continuously seek new value-add opportunities for customers, and convert those new opportunities to realised value. Play a lead role in earning enterprise customer references that describe industry-leading innovation and results.
• Demonstrate valuable leadership on a variety of initiatives and projects simultaneously, both internally and externally.

• Experience with establishing cloud chargeback and/or showback for business units/projects to be accountable for their cloud usage/spend.
• Experience with interrogating cloud billing/cost & usage data to create key cost insights and reports/dashboards using Microsoft Excel or business intelligence/data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Amazon Quicksight, Splunk or Tableau.
• Strong financial/data analysis and reporting skills

What you can bring to the role

• Maintaining McDonald’s strong partnership with the Fair Work Ombudsman, to ensure that McDonald’s reputation as a leading franchise employer is maintained 
• Providing support, advice and training to McDonald’s Consultants and licensees on people practices issues and questions 
• Being the market lead for People Review, ensuring that it meets McDonald’s global standards, along with keeping up to date with any legislative or policy changes in the Australian market
• Escalating any serious matters to the National Employee Relations Manager and legal department, where appropriate
• Seeking continuous improvement for efficiency and business and legislative alignment
• Partnering with McDonald’s IT team on any proposed projects, changes or rollouts in relation to restaurant people practices, including things such as the eSmart Clock, Good People Practices Engine (GPPE), Licensee payroll providers and ROIP systems
• In conjunction with the People & Culture Managers and Employee Relations Advisors, completing calibration People Reviews, to ensure Operations staff are conducting fair and thorough People Reviews
• Tracking of all failed People Reviews, including the reason for the failure. Identify any trends or issues and in conjunction with the National Employee Relations Manager and National Training team, implementing appropriate training responses to common themes

OTE Package

As a guide, below is the average package that a new starter would expect to achieve. The amazing part is that you dictate your commissions as they’re uncapped. Remember the package below is the average but others are earning much more. How much could you achieve?

• A starting salary of $62,000 + super
• $8,500 pa average commissions
• $2,900 average company bonus

In Addition

• Base salary and Superannuation are guaranteed and not tied to sales results
• Commission earnings are uncapped and directly tied to your individual sales results and the above figure is an average, so you can earn even more

• Sales experience, ideally in an outbound contact centre environment (other sales experience will be considered)
• Have worked with KPIs/sales targets
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
