Could you be our next Workplace Relations Consultant?

As the Workplace Relations Consultant, you will work cohesively in the Employee Relations team as the subject-matter expert on systems for restaurant people practices and compliance at McDonald’s, always working towards maintenance and continuous improvement of McDonald’s IR and ER standards. This is a 9-month parental leave cover.

 

What can you expect on a day-to-day basis?

  • Taking on critical ER or IR matters from the Employee Relations hotline 
  • Being the primary contact for requests for assistance received from the Fair Work Ombudsman
  • Managing the investigation, and resolution, of all RFAs received by McDonald’s Australia or franchisees
  • Maintaining McDonald’s strong partnership with the Fair Work Ombudsman, to ensure that McDonald’s reputation as a leading franchise employer is maintained 
  • Providing support, advice and training to McDonald’s Consultants and licensees on people practices issues and questions 
  • Being the market lead for People Review, ensuring that it meets McDonald’s global standards, along with keeping up to date with any legislative or policy changes in the Australian market
  • Escalating any serious matters to the National Employee Relations Manager and legal department, where appropriate
  • Seeking continuous improvement for efficiency and business and legislative alignment
  • Partnering with McDonald’s IT team on any proposed projects, changes or rollouts in relation to restaurant people practices, including things such as the eSmart Clock, Good People Practices Engine (GPPE), Licensee payroll providers and ROIP systems
  • In conjunction with the People & Culture Managers and Employee Relations Advisors, completing calibration People Reviews, to ensure Operations staff are conducting fair and thorough People Reviews
  • Tracking of all failed People Reviews, including the reason for the failure. Identify any trends or issues and in conjunction with the National Employee Relations Manager and National Training team, implementing appropriate training responses to common themes
