The Finance Analyst FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) role is a great opportunity for an aspiring Finance leader to be at the central of activities in guiding, setting and delivering OES Group financial objectives. The primary purpose of this role is to partner with senior managers, executives across Australia, UK and US  and the broader Finance team in coordinating and delivering OES Group’s short term, medium term financial objectives, and monthly forecasting of financial performance and capital investments.

 

Reporting to an experienced Commercial Finance Manager the key responsibilities of the role would include:

·       Coordinating and delivering the annual budget, medium term plan and monthly forecast for the OES Group’s financial performance and capital investment plan

The role comprises identifying, analysing and quantifying revenue streams for renewables, including but not limited to, merchant power prices, green certificates, hydrogen, Ancillary Services (FCAS), future revenue streams and portfolio benefits. In addition to that, challenges regarding curtailment and marginal loss factor (MLF) will be of key importance. The position requires a high affinity for numerical work and handling of large amount of data. You will be part of a highly dynamic, international and geographically diverse team which comes along with working remotely and demonstrating a pro-active and autonomous approach to work. Principal accountabilities Collect, prepare and analyse all relevant data needed as input for business models with special focus on power prices, imbalance costs, market value of renewables / captured prices, curtailments, MLFs and ancillary services and subsidy schemes. Understanding the changes in the regulatory framework and energy market designs in the corresponding countries and quantifying the effects of those changes on revenues with modelling and quantitative skills.  Manage and understand the long-term revenue streams for Renewables (incl. specifics of support schemes, hydrogen business cases, FCAS markets, Causer Pays Procedure, LGCs/REGOs, etc.).  Detailed understanding of the NEM power grid and ability to perform analysis covering MLF,DLF and grid curtailment.  Support in modelling and analysing the revenue streams for batteries. Supporting PPA negotiations, valuations and routes to market for renewable technologies. Support the Strategy and Regulation team to reflect current and future market and regulatory scenarios which are used to value commercials of assets. Support in defining optimal monetisation strategies and assisting the team in doing adequate risk analysis (e.g. value at risk, conditional value at risk, other risk measures). Ad hoc market analysis reports in case of market disruptions Essential knowledge and skills Degree in an analytical / numerical subject, preferably Engineering, Economics, Statistics or Mathematics and appropriate professional experience.  Substantial experience regarding the economics of renewable energies (e.g. MLF/DLF development, FCAS, Causer Pays Procedure and revenues from support mechanisms). Experience with fundamental energy market modelling. Experience in programming and/or optimization languages is an advantage, e.g. Python, Matlab, R or GAMS, database management (i.e. Access) and capability to develop, document and maintain models.  The ability to communicate clearly and in a customer-oriented way, specifically the ability to structure and present complex information adequately to a (senior) management-level audience. Strong interpersonal and presentational skills (expert user of PowerPoint) plus ability to deal with uncertainty linked to cross-cultural projects. Ability to work in different time zones. About The Role

Reporting to the Chief Product and Tech Officer, you will join a dynamic team partnering with Product and Technology (P&T), Sales & Marketing (S&M), Customer Success and Finance leaders. With regular exposure to the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a leading role in championing commercial decision making, providing analysis, insight and advice to drive business performance. What You'll Do

As a Senior Commercial Analyst at ROLLER, you will be an integral part of our product team, specializing in product analytics. Your primary focus will be on extracting valuable insights from product data, conducting deep dives into user behavior, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize our product offerings. • Data Analysis: Utilize your strong analytical skills to dissect product data, identify patterns, and extract meaningful insights to guide product development decisions.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in Finance / Accounting, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field. 
• Expert analytical / modeling skills, with ability to analyze large quantities of complex information and summarize key takeouts 
• Proven experience in product analytics or a similar role within a SaaS or tech-focused company.
• Detail oriented with ability to prioritize tasks and meet timeframes while adjusting to changing priorities
• Gets involved in discussions outside the 'numbers', active contributor to strategy
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and strong understanding of data visualization techniques and tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Finance Analyst to join our team!

Location: Melbourne, CBD - with flexibility to work from home as appropriate

Contract Type: Full time, permanent

Reporting to the Global Head of Project Finance you will be a valuable member of the team supporting the Project Finance team and respective Development team in focus regions (Europe, APAC, Latam – with particular focus on Australia), on all activities related to financing of projects, including market and risk analysis, financial modelling, project finance bankability, bonding requirements, swaps, finance execution, valuations, reporting and portfolio management etc.

As a Project Finance Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:

• Prepare bank teasers and RFPs for lending terms, assess bank offers, review documentation.
• Manage bank processes, including NDAs, information provision, soliciting and assessing responses, due diligence coordination.
• Manage financial models from project financing identification, through investment assessment and approvals, due diligence processes and transaction execution,
• Post-execution management of project cashflow, performance and provision of bank information and reporting (portfolio management)
• Market research - maintain database of relevant renewables market transactions for pertinent jurisdictions.
• Assist with deal execution, including documentation, coordination of advisors, hedging, bank guarantees.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Completed and undergraduate degree in finance, business, economics, engineering

• Project finance related experience, in a bank, fund or advisory firm.
• Relevant renewable energy industry experience strongly preferred.
• Substantial experience with building and using financial models would be valued.
• Experience in deal team/transaction process including RfP, price negotiation, due diligence, loan and project documentation, interest rate hedging, financial close process.
• Financial modelling skills and understanding of three-way financial statements.
• Fundamental understanding of relevant cashflow and legal principles for project financing.
• Sound knowledge of financing concepts and credit/risk analysis.
• Basic understanding of renewable energy projects (wholesale electricity market, PPAs, grid/network connection, renewable energy generation).
