About the Role
The HSW Manager is responsible for driving the proactive implementation and continual improvement of Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) culture, strategy, plan and performance across a region.
Striving to advance Team Global Express’s (TGE) business strategy through enabling a unified culture of safety, people, customer focus and operational excellence the role is responsible for providing practical HSW advice and support to our people and delivering initiatives that continually improve our HSW culture and performance in line with our ‘Genuine Care Culture’ strategic priority.
What you’ll do
- Manage and enhance HSW management system through governance activities, data analysis, and research.
- Provide technical input for HSW planning, risk management, and management reviews.
- Collaborate with management and employees to develop, monitor, and review the Business Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Management System and HSW Plan.
- Lead investigations of workplace incidents, near misses, and injuries, implementing preventive actions.
- Develop and document safe work procedures in consultation with management and employees.
- Communicate Health and Safety responsibilities and ensure effective training for required competencies.
- Identify and control hazards, including hazardous substances, dangerous goods, and plant, in line with legislative requirements.
- Conduct Health and Safety audits, arrange third-party audits, and communicate results, while maintaining and sharing statistical data within the organization.

- Previous experience working in a high risk and or transport/logistics environment.
- Minimum Tertiary qualifications (Diploma in Work, Health and Safety) or higher.
- 5 years’ experience in a HSW leadership role
- Prior experience participating in internal audits and reporting outcomes
- ICAM Investigation Training (or equivalent investigation methodology)
- Experience in relationship management of both internal clients and external stakeholders
- Excellent working knowledge and awareness of Work Health and Safety Legislation
- Proficient computer experience in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook or equivalent
- Ability to challenge, influence, change and improve current systems, procedures, and processes
- Experience in undertaking inspections, risk assessments and develop safe work instructions
- A strong commitment to continuously apply and influence best practice standards
- Current Australian Drivers Licence.
