The Opportunity


The System Accounting Chapter supports delivery in the Finance & Actuarial Transformation & Systems Centre of Excellence (CoE) as it continues to develop, enhance, and maintain financial systems, financial process plus ensure integrity of financial data and associated controls. The Chapter continues to support Finance & Actuarial SMTs during Transformation and Integrations as well as running the business.


System Accountants bridge the Finance & Actuarial team and our technical Oracle experts -> all System Accountants have an accounting qualification with financial system expertise. They understand the current state of financial system data flows, controls, and processes, including customer payment/receipting functionality, that forms a basis of RLA’s financial transactions and reports. Their craft includes the design, analysis and review of financial systems and associated financial processes and controls

Analysis of current state of nominated financial system/process/accounting
Clear and concise documentation of current state

Work with the Project Team, including our third-party vendors, in understanding how Oracle Fusion capabilities will be used in our Future of Finance state
Unit test and triage financial system and data integration artefacts under guidance

As an Enterprise Account Executive, you will be responsible for:

• Building and creating a professional working relationship with C-Level executives
• Understanding the competitive landscape and mapping out the NSW, VIC, and QLD region to find new opportunities.
• Identify new accounts and introduce J4RVIS's value proposition to key decision-makers.
• Manage the end-to-end sales process from inception to deal close.
• Responsible for pipeline and forecast discipline.
• Manage and partner with Salesforce and MuleSoft partners in the territory.
• Analyse and understand win/loss results for assigned accounts.

Joining the commercial heart of our hotel and reporting to the Event Planning Manager, you will: 

• Organisation of secured conference & events business, from point of event confirmation through to post event follow up
• Develop successful professional relationships with clients and maintain effective and timely communication 
• Preparation of Event Planning documents as required – including Request for Information, Event Orders, Invoices & Floorplans
• Ensure progress deposits and final accounts are invoiced and payments received in a timely manner, complete billing and post charges for each event
• Coordinate between Conference & Events and operational departments to ensure preparations for conferences have been made
• Coordination and Hosting of site inspections, pre-conference meetings and post conference reviews with clients
• Proactively seek feedback from in house and past event clients to ensure client satisfaction and to generate repeat business

Joining the commercial heart of our hotel team and reporting to the Director of Sales, you will be part of a team responsible for the planning of group reservation bookings including conference & events, sporting, corporate, special event, inbound and ad-hoc groups. You will work with our Sales and Planning teams and clients to group reservations are planned effectively and efficiently and your responsibilities will include: 

• Management of group room blocks and rooming lists
• Handle group accommodation queries and special requests 
• Manage Hotel inventory with relation to Group Reservations 
• Prepare group information and briefing for relevant Hotel departments
• Proactively seek and address feedback from clients and develop ongoing client relationships
• Quoting and securing group accommodation from non-catered groups and managing contracting, billing and handover for these groups 

Working with a dedicated team, you will utilise your strong relationship and administrative skills; collaborating with other departments to build and maintain partnerships with our existing / potential guests and clients to drive results.

The Commercial Finance Business Partner role is a great opportunity for an experienced Finance Business Partner to support growth and delivery of efficiencies in our core Education Partnership business unit across Australia and the UK. The primary purpose of this role is to be the trusted commercial partner for business stakeholders and executive team members in delivering to our strategic partnerships’ objectives.

The role will encompass business partnering, financial modelling/analysis and working collaboratively with the broader business stakeholders and broader finance team on a number of initiatives. The acquired deep knowledge on commercial performance will also support the monthly forecast and annual business planning process.

This is a proactive, commercial and strategic focused role and your day to day will include:

·       Working collaboratively with Marketing, Sales and Student Insights team in optimising decisions across the new student acquisition journey

·       Undertaking financial modelling/analysis to support strategic decisions and new business opportunities (organic or M&A)

·       Supporting broader stakeholders in formulating business cases

·       Working with key stakeholders to create short and longer term financial forecasts for the Education Partnerships business unit which feed into the monthly forecast and annual business planning process

·       Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in current processes

·       Building deeper commercial knowledge and capability through the business

·       Coaching and mentoring other junior members in the team and support building a high performing, supportive and collaborative culture

This role will report to an experienced Commercial Finance Manager and suit a senior Commercial Finance Business Partner/Junior Commercial Manager who looks for a breadth of commercial exposure with a view that they will take on people management over time.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work in a high performing team and also autonomously manage own workload
• Strong financial and business development modelling skills (intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills)
• Ability to think creatively and apply different problem solving and modelling techniques (creating models from scratch is not required as the business has existing commercial models/ templates) 
• Ability to work in a fluid environment and manage competing priorities
• Experience of developing long terms plans and business cases
• Desire to grow and develop team
• Experience in the Education sector would be viewed positively
• Undergraduate degree (ideally Finance/Accounting/Commerce) and either part or fully qualified CA or CPA
• 3-5 years experience in commercial finance business partnering role
