Lifestyle Support
• Working in consultation with other Health Professionals including Behavioural Support Practitioners, Occupational Therapists and other members, in coordinating and delivering the care of the person. This includes-

o Supporting the participant to feel calm and when they feel upset. For some people this will mean initiating the person’s Positive Behaviour Support Plan. This may also include providing feedback.
o Ensure that the person is supported and encouraged to persue their own interests, hobbies and friendships, to participate and be involved within the community
o Ensuring that participants are provided with privacy, dignity and confidentiality
o Providing information to the participant and their families about care in a person centred way.

• Promoting health and assisting in preventing ill health by participating in continuous education and other health promotion activities.
o Ensuring the participant has access to, and participates in community activities, and is supported to access any health care to ensure good health
o Ensuring that all required participant records are accurately followed and maintained.

Administration-
• Administrative tasks relate to both service operations and records of individual participants.
o File notes

About Us

The Clayton Adult Emergency Department provides tertiary emergency services for adult patients across Southeast Melbourne and surrounding regional areas. The Department is responsible for over 60,000 emergency department presentations annually. Once fully commissioned, the adult emergency department will have 75 treatment spaces, including six resuscitation cubicles, eight isolation rooms and a 20-bed adult short stay unit.

There is also a purpose-built Mental Health and Other Drugs (MHAOD) hub, which includes six dedicated cubicles, interview, and sensory rooms to provide an optimal environment to assess and manage patients presenting with behavioural health needs. The Adult Emergency department sees presentations requiring tertiary level care for Neurosurgery and Stroke services and also includes a diverse range of specialist support services onsite.

This is an exciting and rare opportunity for a qualified and experienced Nurse, Division 1 to work within the Early in Life Mental Health Service inpatient unit.

We currently have part and full time ongoing roles working across a 24/7 rotating roster.

About You

You are an experienced Mental Health Clinician with previous experience within a youth / adolescent mental health setting. You also have previous experience within adolescent mental health nursing, and familiarity with milieu therapy. You also have excellent communication skills and are able to work well with young people, related services and their families within the multidisciplinary team setting. You will also work collaboratively with the various components of the ELMHS service, and provide leadership to the unit on a shift by shift basis, and add to the leadership group of Stepping Stones. Reporting to the Hastings Macleay Clinical Director of Medicine, the Staff Specialist will provide contemporary, comprehensive specialist services, assist in the education role of Kempsey District Hospital and provide clinical care to patients within the Hastings Macleay Clinical Network.

Kempsey District Hospital is a 81 bed, level three facility with a level four 24-hour Emergency Department and a range of specialist services including, high dependency, general medicine, surgical day procedures, drug and alcohol, mental health, renal dialysis, rehabilitation, obstetrics and a maternity unit that births approximately 250 per annum. Additional services include physiotherapy, dietetics, social work, occupational therapy and Aboriginal health. Diagnostic services include onsite pathology, CT scans, ultrasound and general x-ray.

Kempsey, situated between Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour, on the Macleay Valley River is surrounded by national parks and just a short drive from the pristine beaches of the Macleay Valley Coast. We are seeking a clinical academic with extensive undergraduate clinical and preclinical teaching experience within the Oral Health discipline. The appointee will be teaching using both didactic and clinical delivery methods relevant to Oral Health clinical practice. The appointee will play a significant role in providing academic leadership relevant to clinical oral health practice and contributing to the teaching and administration within the discipline. Additionally, the appointee will have the opportunity to progress an active research profile with a strategic research and innovation focus aligned to the overall strategies of the University. The appointee will have demonstrated experience in providing high quality care in private or public health dental practice settings, have a current and significant track record in research publication in a field relevant to Oral Health, and can demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain key professional relationships within the industry. The appointee may be able to provide clinical services in the Charles Sturt Oral Health and Dental Clinics upon negotiation with the Dean of Rural Dentistry and Oral Health and the Clinical Director. This position is required for face-to-face and online teaching and as such remote work options are not available. A doctoral qualification relevant to the discipline, or equivalent accreditation and standing.

About the Role

The Social Work Renal program is looking for an experienced Grade 1 Social Worker to join the team to work across Casey, Clayton, Cranbourne, Dandenong, Moorabbin and the Kingston Centre. This is a full-time, permanent role primarily based at Monash Medical Centre. This role is predominately based at Casey, Dandenong and Cranbourne Dialysis Units but work across all sites will be required.
