The Opportunity
KBR's Land Domain team is current seeking a Systems Safety Engineer to support our Lethality Program Team in Melbourne. The Lethality Program ensures ADF dismounted combatants, operating as part of a combined arms team, have a range of state of the art lethal and non-lethal systems that will decisively overmatch potential and emerging adversaries. The team is required to acquire and deliver the next generation of munitions and weapon systems to enable the war fighter to conduct their mission effectively.
Responsibilities
As the Systems Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, identifying, documenting, and mitigating hazards that contribute to the project platforms. You will be part of a multi-disciplined engineering team working with various stakeholders including our Prime contractor and the Commonwealth client.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical / Electrical / Systems or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing safety documents and the ability to assess hazards and risks.
- Strong time management, organisational and analytical skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management and communication skills.
- Hold and maintain an active Baseline or NV1 (or above) AGSVA Security Clearance (Essential).
- Hold a relevant safety qualification (Graduate Certification, WHS or similar) (Desired).
This role requires immediate access to ITAR information and a Baseline/NV1 security clearance. Job location is Victoria Barracks in Melbourne.
