We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our infrastructure reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role will be responsible for supporting and ensuring delivery of the functionality and support of the Symbio Data Networks.

As an experienced Engineer, you will participate in the configurations and expansion of our network capability, as well as exploring new technologies, and engaging in on-the-job learning, gaining practical skills and expertise in the key result areas below.

As part of this role, the incumbent will be required to participate in an after-hours and on-call roster.

What you'll do as a Network Engineer:

• Provide Level 3 support to customers and other internal teams as required.
• Training of new team members.
• Ensuring collaboration across your team, other teams, and other Business Units.
• Engaging and effectively communicating with internal stakeholders and customers to gather requirements and provide updates on projects and issues.

• Responsible for the operation of the company’s network, including:

• Delivery of all network services (Data, and other hosted services and facilities).

• Maintain highly available environment – ensure systems are designed and implemented to enable high availability.
• Ensure maintenance, upgrades and new implementations are carried out with minimal impact on business and customer operations.
• Contribute to identifying and resolving technical disputes/impediments.
• Responsible for low level design of Platform.
• Produce engineering documentation.

Your Role 

The Sydney Underground Structures team is a leader in the design of underground structures including cut and cover tunnels, retaining wall, foundations and other civil structures in the NSW market. With a growing pipeline of work across a range of different projects and sectors, we are seeking a mid-level Civil Structures Engineer to join our underground structures team and provide expertise to our projects.  

The role offers an exciting opportunity for career progression within a dynamic and vibrant team to deliver sustainable outcomes and client service excellence.  With focus on underground structures design, this role would suit someone seeking to be the interface between structural and geotechnical design with a solid understanding of both disciplines, or an interest in adapting their existing skills in one discipline while developing new skills in the other.

• Work as part of a team to undertake the design of underground and civil structures at all design stages from early concept development to final construction issue and construction support 
• Perform detailed soil structure interaction analysis on a variety of structures and engage with the wider design team to ensure the developed design solutions address the project requirements and are integrated with other design disciplines 
• Collaborate with our digital modellers to produce drawings and models which capture the information requirements of our projects and clearly describe these requirements to the client and contractors. 

What can you bring to the team?  

The preferred candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Structural / Geotechnical / Civil Engineering with around 5 years’ experience, preferably with exposure to the structural design of underground / civil structures.   Your career to date will have included: 

• Relevant experience in the design and documentation of retaining structures, deep shafts, cut and cover tunnels and/or reinforced soil and rock construction. 
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards, TfNSW specifications and structural and/or geotechnical analysis software  
• Experience in successfully working in a consultancy setting as part of project teams with both internal and external clients. Experience in transport work sectors preferred 
• Interest in further developing existing skills in both structural and geotechnical engineering 
• Ability to apply technical design skills to ensure solutions are safe, efficient and meet quality requirements

Who You Are 

You have Trade relevant Mechanical engineering qualifications – Fitter, Fitter machinist, mechanical engineer, with proven, hands-on, post qualification experience, assembling and disassembling mechanical (separation) machinery and components.

You are an individual that has excellent organizational skills to record service tasks in a clear concise service report and submit all job-related paperwork and expenditure in a timely manner.

You are a great communicator, able to discuss issues and advise solutions to our customers equipment and processes.

You must be confident & self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously or remotely supported, able to follow direction and instructions with ease.

You have a good level of physical fitness, and you must have the digital mindset and skills to work with the business tools and help drive our company’s digitalization journey.

About the Job 

Your duties will include:

• Servicing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Decanter centrifuge & High-speed separators.
• Be able to read & interpret engineering drawings, manuals, exploded diagrams & P&ID drawings.
• Compiling of technical service reports.
• Work to high level of H&S – Compiling & working to JSEA’s. SWMS, permit to work, Take 5 etc
• Being part of a pioneering team developing new applications via trials.
• The satisfaction of keeping equipment running reliably with happy customers.

• A combination of regional, interstate, and local metro work.
• Support in our Perth workshop when required.
   

What you Know  

• Mechanical fundamentals

• PLC Control systems experience would be highly advantageous – Siemens, Allen & Bradly, 2 Touch, Plus, Basic, DCC, EPC 50/60.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience would be highly advantageous (but not essential)
• Australian connect/disconnect license
• You will require a full driving license.
• Have strong English language and writing skills.

The Metal Coating Lines (MCL) manufactures and supplies metal coated products for building, pre-painted, distribution and manufacturing applications. As the Process Technical Engineer, you’ll provide technical support to the ZINCALUME® lines and services, by overseeing the product quality and output, and ensuring they meet customer requirements.

As a Principal Engineer (Rolling Stock) within the Egis Rail business, your impact will be delivering major, cutting-edge projects across our high performing Rail division - by way of providing technical and project management expertise, to ensure the effective management and delivery of major rail projects. The Opportunity:

The Systems Engineer (EWIS-L SPO) will assist the Land 154 projects as required to plan, acquire, integrate and transition the Mission Systems into service and onto sustainment. You will provide Systems Engineering support for acquisition, sustainment and disposal of FPECM, CIED and other Electronics Warfare (EW) systems, and if required and workload permits, the Systems Engineer may be tasked by the Program Manager to assist other Counter Improvised Explosive Device projects. You shall work collaboratively and independently on a range of engineering and Project tasks both within the engineering team and the wider Project team.

The Systems Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager within the Project and/or the Program’s Senior Engineering Manager.

Electromagnetic Warfare and Intelligence Systems – Land Systems Program Office (EWIS-L SPO) employs a robust Engineering Management System (EMS) to progress these materiel systems through acquisition, sustainment and disposal.

Responsibilities

• Requirements derivation, adherence and management, including meetings, working groups, Mandated System Reviews (MSR) and Capability acceptance.
• Operate within the Organisation’s One Defence Capability System and SPO’s Engineering Management System, maintaining a high standard of activities and outputs.

• Current (or ability to immediately gain) Technical Proficiency Level 4 (An individual who holds an accredited or recognised four-year engineering degree and has completed a minimum of three years engineering work experience after completing the degree).
• Demonstrated Engineering qualifications and experience (preferably Electrical, Electronics, Communications, or Radio Frequency, but Systems, Mechatronics and Mechanical will also be considered,).
• Demonstrated recent systems engineering experience in Defence projects within the One Defence Capability System, including relevant experience in the Defence Joint or Land Domain within the past 5 years.
• Well-developed communication skills, oral and written.

Desirable:

• Technical Proficiency Level Three (Be a Chartered Professional Engineer through Engineers Australia, registered on the National Engineering Register.)
• Demonstrated experience in the Engineering discipline, including the planning, scoping, budgeting and forecasting of tasks, activities and deliverables within the Project, and the ability to work in a distributed team across a varied workforce and environment.
• Demonstrated experience in the development of key engineering project artefacts such as the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), Materiel Certification Plan (MCP), Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) and Verification and Validation (V&V) Plans, Procedures, Reports and Final Inspection and Test (FI&T) Plans, Procedures and Reports.

The Opportunity:

As the Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for executing day-to-day engineering and logistics activities in accordance with our clients’ engineering management system. The project you are supporting delivers integrated cross-class sustainment services, expert advice, and quality asset management.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake requirements engineering activities.
• Undertake design activities as part of the preliminary design and detailed design stages.
• Draft or provide input towards the development of statements of work for acquisition.
• Conduct Verification and Validation (V&V) activities as part of engineering change management activities.
• Implement the system safety program and perform safety engineering activities.
• Develop or provide input towards the development of service requirements as part of maintenance definition.
• Identify items of supply required for codification and liaise with the logistics office to complete codification and cataloguing.
• Logistics support analysis.
• Undertake sparing analysis.
• Perform technical investigations.
• Provide engineering support such as SQEP review, engineering advice, and engineering support for trials.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Defence industry or similar position.
• Eligible for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) clearance on relevant ship systems.
• AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance.

Desirable:

• Experience in Defence Industry.
• Experience in Marine Systems and structure.

The Opportunity

This role is a Systems Engineering – Mechanical role supporting Land Engineering Agency (LEA) providing engineering services to Commercial and General Service Vehicle Systems Project Office (CGSVSPO), in delivery of Vehicle Fleet Sustainment support. The role will support the Technical Integrity of Fleets managed by CGSVSPO and is reliant upon the timely provision of engineering and technical services to manage, investigate and close out RODUM’s and associated Engineering/Technical changes.  These changes require assessment to ensure Safety and Logistics factors are comprehensively addressed.

You will be joining a team to deliver the technical aspects of the project through design reviews, test and evaluation and support to technical certification. A focus on building relationships, managing KBR’s partnerships and maintaining client satisfaction will be key to this role, with a view to maximising business opportunities within the agreed operating structure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Engineering Change documentation, including amendments to impacted Technical Data and Safety Artefacts IAW LEA processes, systems and authorities 
• Provide support to RODUM investigations through review and assessment of technical data and logistics factors
• Support conduct of Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Maintain Configuration Management of Technical Data and artefacts
• Support the conduct of Test and Evaluation activities and Technical Certification activities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key customer and supplier contacts, liaise with Design Acceptance Authority Representative (DAAR) and other Stakeholders, as directed
• Provide guidance, mentorship and assistance to team members including graduate levels as and when required

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Degree qualified Mechatronics or Mechanical
• Experienced in Systems Engineering practice using EIA-632/IEEE 15288 or equivalent
• Hands-on experience in configuration management practice
• Working knowledge of ASDEFCON Contracting framework (above and/or below the line)
• Experience in safety and/or risk management
• Experience in Verification and Validation (V&V) planning and test execution

Other Requirements

• 2+ years Specialty Engineering practice as Electrical or Mechanical Platform engineer in Defence Environment
• Ability to support Configuration Control Boards and Safety Management Meetings
• Experience in reviewing and updating technical documentation
• Experience in Systems Safety and developing and implementing mitigating controls
