As a Principal Engineer (Rolling Stock) within the Egis Rail business, your impact will be delivering major, cutting-edge projects across our high performing Rail division - by way of providing technical and project management expertise, to ensure the effective management and delivery of major rail projects. You will be the rolling stock lead and local subject matter expert on Rolling Stock whereby you will demonstrate the proper integration of rolling stock across multidisciplinary rail teams whilst providing mechanical engineering advisory services across light and heavy rail networks.
Experience in the Victorian Rail market is critical, with the ability to lead projects and engagements for the Egis Rail team. With a solid pipeline of work nationally, you will support the team by driving technical and business development activities to continue identifying opportunities for Egis.
Additionally, you will:
- Provide leadership and management capability for the rolling stock team and its ongoing projects. Providing leadership on growing the Egis rolling stock capability both nationally and internationally.
- Provide technical advice and technical leadership of major rolling stock projects locally and nationally.
- Lead and work collaboratively with engineers, subject matter experts, project teams within a multidisciplinary environment to achieve project and business outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing technical advice/solutions that meet their requirements.
- Understanding of commercial and technical arrangements/frameworks for the procurement, maintenance and operation of rolling stock, particularly in the local market.
- Contribute to the effective delivery of projects through technical reviews, studies, and technical reports.
- Produce, contribute, review, and/or approve engineering documentation, management and project inclusive of reports, calculations, specifications, procedures, plans, schedules, assessments etc.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant industry standards and regulations, and manage risks associated with the delivery of rail projects.
- Supervise, mentor and support Graduates, Consultants/Engineers and SMEs - to help them achieve their full potential (as required)
