The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our BlueScope Building Solutions business in Hamilton, Newcastle as a Business Systems Analyst initially in a 12-month fixed term contract. BlueScope Building Solutions is a part of BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions, and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys.
Our Building Solutions business has a pipeline of exciting tech projects that will prepare and reset our digital landscape - this is a newly created role for someone proactive and who promotes a growth mindset. We are at the early stages and by joining the team now, you will be at the forefront of shaping our digital landscape. Reporting to the Commercial Manager of our Buildings Solutions business, you'll be initially focusing on a key transformation project in our Kiteleys business. Our team will rely on your technical capability as you guide and partner with a diverse range of stakeholders. There will be the opportunity for variety and exposure, as you'll be a critical link for the wider team, leveraging your expertise to unlock process improvement and opportunities for systemisation. You’ll be connected into our wider IT network, who can offer you access to a wide range of technologies and platforms and will be a source of support and guidance.

What Will You Do?
Working closely with business teams and IT professionals, you’ll be driving the configuration, development, and integration of our ERP system (SAP Business One) to align with business requirements as we deliver the latest version to users. To achieve this, you will:
- understand business processes and work with stakeholders to define, consolidate and leverage data
- proactively collaborate with the business to analyse information needs and functional requirements and to optimise business process efficiency
- resolve current gaps in business requirements and user training and processes
- act as a conduit between the business and internal and external system providers to deliver integration and development opportunities
More About You
As someone with knowledge of data and system analysis, you’ll be skilled at providing IT solutions that bring commercial benefits. You'll have:
- proven analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
- an interest and skill at solving problems with creative and effective solutions
- excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and the ability to interact with a diverse group
- the desire and tenacity to affect change and promote the benefits to bring people along on the journey
- some technical experience in a SAP Business One environment or similar would be hugely beneficial
