The Director of Food and Beverage at Sofitel Brisbane Central is responsible for leading managers and team members in the food and beverage outlets and meeting and events operations to ensure the seamless execution of luxury food and beverage service in the hotel.

• Oversee all hotel food and beverage and meeting and events operations
• Provide direction and guidance to the relevant managers to ensure profitable and engaging departments

This role reports to the Operations Manager of the hotel and takes ownership over The Social, our in house restaurant and collaborates closely with the Sales and Marketing and Kitchen teams to ensure our functions and conferences are a wonderful experience. 

The key responsibilities in this role are unique to this hotel and include:

• Rostering to ensure coverage is maintained at all time - this includes supporting the team to find coverage during times of illness
• Being an integral part of service - there are times when you will be the only person on shift and it's a requirement that you are a 'hands-on' professional. 
• Ownership of guest experience in the restaurant
• Ordering and Stock Control - You will have responsibility of all ordering and inventory for the restaurant and liaising with the Executive Chef and Sales and Marketing for conferences and events
• Reporting responsibilities - this includes daily, weekly, and monthly reporting requirements
• Ensuring the team are trained as F&B superstars and are also growing and learning new skills for their own development
• Recruitment for the team as required with the assistance of the Talent and Culture Manager

Event set up and pack down - Food and Beverage Attendant

Work with your team to set up and pack down conference rooms promptly and accurately to the specifications described on the function sheets ensuring cleanliness and organisation, and assist in various food and beverage duties as needed. Physical capability to move heavy items as needed and practice safe handling at all times.

Barista

The Banquet Barista is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee and espresso beverages during banquet events. They ensure high-quality service, maintain cleanliness and organization of the barista station, and provide a pleasant guest experience.

• Availability: Monday – Thursday from 6 AM

Bartender

Prepare and serve beverages, maintain the bar area, engage with guests, and uphold the Sofitel standard of service.

• Availability: Tuesday – Friday from 4 PM

Overnight Food and Beverage Attendant

Provide food and beverage service during overnight hours, ensure timely delivery of services. Take responsibility for your designated rooms or sections during service.

• Availability: Wednesday – Friday, 10 PM - 5 AM

As a representative of Sofitel, you will be responsible for delivering buffet breakfast service in addition to providing memorable experiences through a la carte lunch and dinner services for the esteemed guests at Suzette, the flagship restaurant of Sofitel Brisbane Central.

You’ll excel in this role if you have:

• Flexibility to commence work at either 5:30 AM or 6 AM
• Availability during shifts from 11 AM to 3 PM and 3 PM to 11 PM
• Weekend availability, as weekends are our peak operational periods
• Responsible Service of Alcohol qualification
• Basic proficiency in food and beverage service skills, encompassing guest greetings, order-taking, and maintaining cleanliness
• Exemplary personal presentation standards.

Food and Beverage Attendant – Cuvee Lounge Bar (Part Time and Casual)

As a member of our team at the Cuvee Lounge Bar, you will have an exceptional opportunity to create lasting memories for our guests during their special occasions.

You’ll excel in this role if you have:

• Availability to work from 11 AM to 11 PM
• Responsible Service of Alcohol qualification
• Warm, outgoing personality and a high level of personal presentation in line with our brand standards
• Demonstrated experience in a bar or lounge setting, with expertise in wine, spirits, and cocktails
• Capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
• Proactive ability to anticipate and address guest needs, maintaining a professional and welcoming demeanor.
