The Opportunity

We are looking for a Bookkeeper to join our high-performing Finance team on a permanent basis. The focus of this role will be dealing with day-to-day bookkeeping, including trust accounting, preparation of accounts payable, balance sheet reconciliations, invoicing, debt collection, and bank account reconciliations.

The successful candidate will need to have an exemplary phone manner and great email drafting skills to be able to communicate clearly and concisely with a huge variety of internal and external clients. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively determine priorities, work under pressure, and manage a range of different tasks concurrently.

The Ideal Candidate

Experienced: You will have at least some experience in a general accounting role, ideally in a professional services environment.

Qualifications: You hold a CIII in Bookkeeping from a reputable institution.

A natural communicator: Able to effectively and clearly communicate with clients both by email and on the phone.

Thrives in fast-paced environments: The ability to effectively manage competing priorities and to respond calmly and professionally when faced with difficult situations.

Diligent: Excellent attention to detail and organisational and time management skills are vital.

Proactive: Able to identify issues or opportunities to make improvements and run with them.

Team player: Willingness to actively contribute and assist other members of the team when needed.

Tech savvy: You will be using our innovative in-house technology as well as market-leading software to process a large variety of transactions. We use Google Sheets on a daily basis so any expertise in that will be highly regarded.

A leading company in the logistics sector is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our finance team as an AR Officer / Collections Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the accounts receivable ledger, ensuring timely collection of payments, and handling customer enquiries related to billing.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain the accounts receivable ledger and ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
Generate and send out invoices and account statements.
Facilitate swift payment of invoices by sending bill reminders and contacting clients with outstanding accounts.
Reconcile discrepancies in accounts received.
Provide solutions to any relative problems of clients.

Accounts Receivable: - Process external property agent remittances and reconcile cash receipts in the accounting software. - Produce customer invoices as needed and liaise with debtors to ensure prompt receipt of outstanding amounts. - Reconcile aged debtor balances to the general ledger and address vendor inquiries or discrepancies promptly. - Raise and process intercompany invoices as required. Corporate Credit Card: - Monitor the outstanding account balance and process all credit card transactions in the accounting system. - Follow up on any outstanding receipts for credit card transactions and ensure timely payment of the monthly credit card balance. - Perform daily reconciliation of the credit card statement to the general ledger. Petty Cash: - Maintain the petty cash credit card and provide funds to staff as authorized by the Executive Director. - Ensure appropriate authorization is obtained before releasing funds and maintain sufficient funds in the account. - Reconcile petty cash transactions daily to the general ledger and provide reconciliation of payments to the Senior Accountant for review and replenishment. General Ledger and Journal Entries: - Assist with preparing journal entries as required, ensuring proper coding and documentation. - Aid in reconciling general ledger accounts and resolving discrepancies to maintain organized and accurate financial records. Bank Reconciliations: - Perform daily reconciliation of all bank account statements to the general ledger and investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank and company records. - Follow up on any outstanding receipts for bank account transactions.
