Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate NDIS Support Worker to join our team. The NDIS Support Worker will provide direct support to clients enrolled in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), assisting them in achieving their goals and fostering independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised support to NDIS clients in their homes or community settings.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, household tasks, and meal preparation.
- Implement individualized support plans developed in collaboration with clients, their families, and allied health professionals.
- Support clients in accessing community resources, recreational activities, and social interactions.
- Monitor and document clients' progress, behaviors, and any changes in their health or well-being.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with NDIS guidelines and organizational policies.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, colleagues, and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards, respecting clients' rights, privacy, and dignity at all times.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as required.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and support workers to deliver comprehensive and integrated services.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent qualification.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- National Police Clearance (dated within the last 12 months).
- Understanding of and compliance with the NDIS Code of Conduct.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as required by client needs.
- Australian driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (if required for client visits).
- Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to infection control and occupational health and safety practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience working as an NDIS Support Worker or in a similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of the NDIS framework, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating empathy, patience, and resilience.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (if required for client visits).
