Warehouse Manager

This is a permanent position reporting directly to the Plant Manager.
You will manage warehouse staff across 24/5 operating facility, create and implement processes and procedures, drive best practice and continuous improvement to maximize efficiencies and improve operational performance whilst ensuring a safe workplace for all team members.
We are seeking a practical 'hands-on' person with a 'can-do' attitude who is capable of managing multiple concurrent responsibilities.

The core responsibilities of this role:

• Overseeing daily warehouse operations, inclusive of managing all warehouse duties such as: shipping, receiving of materials, unpacking, stocking, picking goods for shipment and ensure these are all completed within company guidelines and company/customer timelines
• Maintaining quality control of incoming and outgoing shipments
• Managing resources effectively
• Working with management to meet budgetary and operational goals
• Ensure that the daily work tasks are performed within operational guidelines and in a safe and efficient manner
• Training and mentoring team members
• Evaluating overall performances of each team member
• Stock management and control across multiple warehouses
• Coordinating with freight forwarders in relation to incoming containers
• Developing and implementing growth strategies
• Develop and implement improvements to operational procedures to maximize efficiency and cut operational costs
• Warehouse related HR duties
• Liaison with all departments
• Regular reporting to the leadership team
• General organizing and keeping warehouse tidy and in order

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous distribution experience in a senior leadership role
• Continuous improvement focus
• Experience in  driving change in procedures and processes to reduce cost and improve efficiencies.
• IT  knowledge including a strong understanding of Warehouse Management Systems, specifically knowledge in SAP Service Pack one (SP1)
• Inventory and stock management experience, ability to lead and improve on stock takes, receiving and SLOBs management
• Advanced skills in analyzing data for operational and performance reporting
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership qualities

Software Engineer role involves developing, testing, maintaining, and supporting applications and systems that support the business needs of the customer. This includes analysis, design, build, test, and documenting solutions according to approved current standards and best practice methodology.

• Performing system analysis to design test automation frameworks and its integration with various CI/CD, test management, and defect management tools.

About this opportunity

In this contract role, you will manage development projects and support the implementation of new products for the contract manufacturing division, across all Personal Care categories. From initial concept through to full scale production by initiating innovation, formulating new products, producing lab scale batches and supporting the new product development team.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Project manage all projects to completion within budget and agreed timelines
• Manage the formulation and development of new innovative personal care products and improve formulae and processes of existing products to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiencies.
• Complete manufacture of laboratory scale batches for formulation development, customer sampling and stability testing.
• Oversee the implementation and progress of stability related testing of all new products for validating shelf life.
• Provide support to manufacturing NPD, technical/laboratory sales and marketing personnel as required.
• Liaise with new product development and marketing personnel, raw material suppliers and customers as required, facilitating the formulation and development process.
• Oversee the sourcing of raw materials both internally and externally for use in the formulation and development of new products and identifying alternate equivalent sources of supply when required.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Assisting site in the investigation of out of specification results and customer complaints.
• Develop tools and processes to support improvement of product development efficiency.
• In conjunction with relevant departments ensure compliance of new and adapted products to market regulations and any relevant quality and safety requirements.
• Contribute to the achievements of the department and company’s quality objectives.
• Support the Technical Lead chemist and co-operate with laboratory team members to achieve efficient output.
• Complete any other required tasks/assignments as directed. 

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

• Experience in the personal care manufacturing industry
• Tertiary qualifications in a Scientific/Engineering field [e.g. Bachelor of Science (Chemistry), Chemical Engineering or equivalent] 
• Ability to develop a sound understanding of technical, IP and regulatory issues relating to product development in personal care.
• Ability to investigate and fully scope new products and make sound recommendations for execution.
• Ability to trouble-shoot and implement an investigative approach to a wide variety of technical, timeline-related challenges as required.
• Knowledge of Aust/NZ regulatory requirements for personal care products
