Rest’s Investments Services & Transformation (IS&T) team are accountable for delivery of Strategic and BAU projects. This includes the design, delivery and embedment of end-to-end change across Investment Front Office and Middle Office ecosystem.  Our priority is ensuring change is aligned with our strategy and core business capabilities and delivering value to our members.

The Senior Analyst is part of the BI & Research stream of a broader Analytics & Research Team, supporting a spectrum of business stakeholders. The Senior Analyst provides insights into current and likely future behaviour of Rest’s members and employers by finding innovative connections through data mining, deep dive analysis, visualisation and data storytelling.

This role will contribute to managing financial crime risks and regulatory compliance obligations at Rest. • Day-to-day data management duties of Rest’s Enterprise Data Governance tool (Atlan), including but not limited to user access management, training both hands on and reference material development of collateral, feature enhancement identification and management, testing and rollout to business stakeholders.

The Middle Office function is maturing from a traditional middle to back office function to provide improved decision support, performance reporting, technical expertise in due diligence, and centralised functions performed within the Front Office Investment Teams.

As part of this journey, the Middle Office function is specialising between the Listed Assets (Equities, Fixed Income, Overlays) and Unlisted Assets (Property, Infrastructure, PE and Direct Debt). In the Unlisted Asset space, to further develop enhanced middle office services to support a growing portfolio of Unlisted Assets, we require Robust ‘end-to-end’ transaction processing and reporting capabilities.

This role will be responsible for transaction review, instruction and reporting for the Unlisted Assets. In addition, the role will develop the accounting platform that will support the growth in the Unlisted Assets.

Business as usual will include Operations: ensuring timeliness of processing payments, preparing & uploading custodian instructions, and acknowledging receipt of funds. As we strive to work as a small cross-functional and dynamic team, the Analyst, Unlisted Middle Office is required to consider the technical consequences of Unlisted Investment transactions for Custody, Accounting, Legal, Tax, Performance and act as the first point of call prior to corroborating with the wider Shared Services group

In this 12 Month Fixed Term Contract, the Senior Analyst is a part of the Business Intelligence (BI) and Research stream of a broader Analytics Team, supporting a broad spectrum of business stakeholders by finding innovative connections through data mining and deep dive analysis. Providing the business with deep insights into the current and likely future behaviour of Rests members and employers through visualisation and data storytelling.

This role supports enterprise business strategy, including retention, onboarding and employer service, executing in concert with all teams across Rest.

The Senior Analyst (BI) role is embedded, and will work day-to-day, within a cross-functional Data and Insight product team.  Vision, roadmap and priorities for each team is set by a product owner.  Each team will contain the skills required to deliver working solutions to end-users (including, but not limited to, analysts, engineers, quality assurance, scrum master, etc. 

Key accountabilities include:

• Help devise and implement behavioural analysis, providing actionable insights to key stakeholders.
• Create and maintain intuitive Tableau dashboards that support data-driven decision making.  Dashboards should be focused on optimisation and end user experience in order to help promote a self-serve analytic culture.
• Actively contribute to the continuous development of the analytical hub through data enrichment, customer interaction derivation, trigger detection and feature engineering.
• As a part of a cross-functional data and insights product team, deploy new analytical data models through sourcing, transforming, and modelling necessary data.
• As a part of a cross-functional data and insights product team, design, develop and implement analytical solutions.  This may include understanding key member behaviours that drive customer acquisition, retention, and engagement.
• Deep-Dive Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis using SQL and other analytical tools to answer complex business questions and extract actionable insights, contributing to the development of business plans and strategies.
• Promote Data-Driven Decision Making: Foster a culture of evidence-based decision-making by providing training and support in Tableau navigation, dashboard usage, and interpretation of analysis.
• Continuous Improvement: Ensure the continuous improvement of analytical solutions by identifying opportunities for improvement, aligning with the overall analytics strategy, and implementing changes.
• Compliance and Standards: Adhere to organisational principles and guidelines, ensuring that solutions delivered are resilient, scalable, and consistent with Rest's existing framework.
• Actively participate and contribute to the Analytics Community of Practice.
• As the subject matter expert in data and performance reporting, proactively coach junior team members in the Analytics team and more broadly guide members of Tableau Community when needed.

• Provide support to Delivery Leads to ensure they are effectively utilizing the Delivery Lifecycle.
• Undertakes monthly Health checks on Individual initiatives & portfolios.
• Confirm all Initiatives and Programs are following the Delivery Lifecycle and completing all required aspects of the Delivery Checklist, escalating any deviations outside tolerance.
• Custodian of the Delivery Lifecycle Library, including all artefacts, processes and how-to guides.
• Ensure new resources are trained on the Delivery Lifecycle
• Ad hoc reporting/administration at the discretion of the Head of Delivery Practices.
• Perform project coordination activities for small projects discretion of the Head of Delivery Practices.
• Tracking and supporting related processes for resourcing across the portfolio (including new requests, extensions & terminations).
• Manage stakeholder relationships, including demonstrating ability to influence and gain buy in from relevant stakeholders.
• Support Contract Management activities.
• Capture actions and lessons learnt from all project Post-Implementation Reviews (PIRs) in a centralized repository.
• Coordinate Portfolio Delivery invoicing activities.

• Collaborate with other divisions to ensure consistency and integrity of investment messaging across all communication channels
