What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
As the Operations Lead you will be responsible for building a running partnerships operations for multi-disciplinary tasks for Partnerships as well as Creative projects for Partnerships Design and Diversity team. Your time will be split 50% solely focused on Partnerships needs, where you’ll have the opportunity to work across the business linking key stakeholders across product, engineering, finance, marketing and creative. 25% of your time will be spent working on operational efficiency across the Partnerships & Acquisitions group which includes creative production, and 25% coaching two project managers who look after day to day operations. You will be involved in strategic planning and will be expected to embody and build a high-performance culture, build relationships and guide the team to deliver extraordinary work.
Technical implementation for partnerships. You will be responsible for overseeing the technical execution of projects post deal completion. This includes handling data transfers, setting up financial and quality reports, and closely collaborating with product and engineering teams. Effective management will involve assessing backlog, estimating upload time, and communicating partner needs. Additionally, you will work with the review team to develop strategies for processing large data volumes. Attention to detail is crucial, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of contractual terms and creating wikis for necessary guidance.
Build and maintain key partner relationships. You’ll be the primary contact for our partners, managing various touch points to communicate MBR and QBR data packs, financial and usage reporting, and content review cadences. Additionally, you'll oversee major record label partnerships, conducting monthly reporting/syncs, manage reporting etc.
Build Operational Excellence. Your impact will extend across the group by coaching our Partnerships Design and Diversity Project Managers to support the creative team effectively. Leading internal communications, updating team documents and dashboards, creating playbooks, and seeking automation and optimisation opportunities within the group.
Create intrinsic value from partnerships. Your success hinges on your networking skills through Canva to achieve optimal results. Engage with internal teams on creative projects to enhance usage, assist in organising partner events with the vibe team and other stakeholders, and coordinate marketing initiatives for key suppliers as needed.

Creative operations mastermind. You’re an organisational whiz, a master of timelines, juggler of multiple projects and a creative management guru. You are a calm, approachable team member who exemplifies the Canva value of 'making complex things simple'. Ideally you will come from a service or production background with an extensive understanding of the client management process, an eye for detail, a love for contractual terms, and a desire to see all jobs big or small through to completion. You are someone who wants to champion industry-best practice and never settle for anything less.
Relationship builder and strong communicator: You thrive in being in front of partners, internal colleagues, and external stakeholders at all levels all the way to group leads, actively building strong relationships with them, ensuring they are successful with Canva. You’ve built this experience with 5+ years in a client-facing role, such as partnerships, account management, production or agency.
Ownership mentality: You act like an owner of your tasks and remit, and seek solutions to problems without being asked to do so. Then work collaboratively with others to drive successful outcomes. You have proven ability to lead initiatives from brief to launch and beyond, via self-learning and with minimal oversight. Your colleagues have faith in you to get the job done. You want to take the next step in your journey to a coach who drives value through your coaches and takes the time to build their confidence along the way.
Strategic thinker: You’re able to identify areas for improvement and present ideas in a clear way. You’re comfortable managing change and implementing improvements. You’re comfortable with research and data, and use it to inform your approach and validate your position.
You’ll love this role if
- 5+ years of experience in a Program or Project Management, Account Manager or Operations role with agency, publisher or tech company
- Knowledge of Mode, Looker, and Jira
- Experience prioritising, managing and tracking multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Have experience delivering results through optimising team processes
- You love building relationships internally and externally that facilitates business growth
