Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home, or a bit of both, it's up to you.
About the FP&A Team
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is an incredibly powerful function, and it’s no different at Canva! FP&A is a force multiplier, accelerating Canva’s journey on its 2-step plan! Step One – to become one of the world’s most valuable companies; and Step Two – to do the most good we can!
Working closely with Business Leaders across the entire company, we bring our financial expertise to bear - enabling strategic decision making that drives top-line growth, plotting the path from goals to execution through financial planning, driving financial rigour and prudent investment, delivering key insights that lead to meaningful action, and increasing the efficiency of our operations.
Within the FP&A Team, we have a number of teams, including Corporate FP&A, Growth FP&A (Forecasting & Insights), Operations FP&A, and Sales & Marketing FP&A.
About the role
Our Sales & Marketing FP&A team collaborates with our world-class Sales and Marketing teams to supercharge our growth motions to help Canva become one of the most valuable companies in the world. This team partners with Sales and Marketing leaders to develop our investment strategy, understand the potential outcomes, and continually iterate to ensure we're deploying resources in the best way to sustain Canva's incredible growth.
We currently have an exciting 12 months Fixed Term Contract Finance Business Partner opportunity within our Marketing FP&A team, focusing on the B2B and Education marketing functions.
What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
In this role, you’ll add value through:
- supporting the Lead Marketing Finance Business Partner on planning activities like forecasting and budgeting as well as overall budget management (actual spend and impact performance analysis) across a variety of critical Marketing spend buckets.
- tracking and monitoring investment, whilst helping shape best-in-class outputs via impactful and insightful reporting that connects costs with performance.
- acting as main finance point of contact for Other General & Administrative costs incurred by the Marketing supergroup, owning budget management, planning and reporting cadences (actuals analysis and reporting, as well as annual planning and monthly re-forecasting)
- ensuring Marketing groups remain within budget guardrails and deploy investment thoughtfully and in the most impactful way that supports Canva’s overall success.
- helping Marketing FP&A set high standards in reporting, insights and investment optimisation by playing the role of a trusted advisor and co-pilot both within Finance and with the business.
- creating frameworks for planning and performance to ensure that Canva achieves its financial objectives and operates as a well-managed business
- collaborating with the broader FP&A and Finance team to drive financial excellence
You're probably a match if you
- are CA/CPA qualified with experience as a finance analyst or FP&A business partner within a commercial environment or you’re wanting to make the transition from finance operations/accounting into a commercial finance business partner role.
- have experience connecting the dots both ways between company objectives, business strategy, and financial models
- have experience in key accounting concepts, financial statement analysis, governance and risk.
- have experience conducting quantitative/financial analysis, developing recommendations and then telling the story in a variety of mediums to a broad spectrum of financial & non-financial stakeholders.
- are resourceful and pragmatic, thriving in a world of imperfect data but adept at using the right tools, insights and communication methods to influence stakeholders.
- have a bias for action and adapt quickly to evolving business needs.
