Where and how you can work
Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.
What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
- Inspiring interest in deeply understanding our APAC customers, what motivates them to use our product and how to build experiences that drive higher satisfaction, ongoing engagement, and retention.
- Understanding our broader APAC market and competitor landscape, our brand territory and positioning, honing our audience propositions and working with our product, performance, social media, community, and brand marketing teams to develop test, and measure our brand health, campaign strategy, and plans.
- Developing core frameworks, methodologies, databases, and reporting solutions to support internal decision making and answer critical business questions. Maximising the power of Canva’s data and systems, in combination with qualitative and quantitative research, to generate hypotheses, plan and deliver high-impact research.
- Producing highly actionable and authoritative insights that impact our growth initiatives and Marketing strategy while balancing business requirements.
You're probably a match if
- You have proven experience in market research and insights roles leading quantitative and qualitative primary research that delivers business results.
- You are innovator who is willing to roll up the sleeves and get into the weeds.
- You are highly collaborative, effective partner who can influence through sensible, thoughtful communication and execution.
- You have extraordinary communication and storytelling skills with experience across all levels; skilled at addressing both large and small audiences across multiple leadership levels and functions.
- You’re able to break down complex topics into simple solutions, ideas, and actionable outcomes.
- You have experience influencing and earning the trust of senior collaborators and moving business teams to take action.
- You possess proven experience in end-to-end research and user-centered design methods.
- You have deep domain expertise for Market Research & Insights with a mix of Qualitative & Quantitative Research Experience + Media Effectiveness.
- You have a deep knowledge and experience of conducting research across all markets in APAC.

This role is part of the Global Marketing Research & Data team. We are a team of Market Researchers, Data Analysts and Data Scientists who exist to deliver a high quality, deep and rich understanding of our markets, our competitors, our marketing and and our users. We deliver unrivalled insight into the business to ensure that we are making the right decisions at the right time.
