Operations Team Lead

The successful candidate will ensures that we accurately and efficiently deliver in full and on time on all client orders including all Big Box & Retail orders, Café & Gift Orders, Distributors and custom printing orders by leading the Assembly people function.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the full time and casual workforce and ensure daily fulfillment targets are achieved for picking and packing of customer orders within the Wholesale function. 
• Liaise with Inventory and Wholesale sales teams to manage sales, inventory and fulfillment requirements.
• Lead by example, mentor staff and provide active frontline management with pick and pack team members to ensure they are motivated, trained and competent to perform assigned tasks.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders.
• Ensure all packing and deliveries are in line with customer requirements, particularly Big Box Retailers.
• Implement all OHS requirements, L&D initiatives and process improvement initiatives and provide a safe working environment by ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to by staff.
• Act as the escalation point for any Team Member, supplier, head office sales and/or customer service queries as they relate to Wholesale.
• Stock cycle counting.
• Support with rostering and payroll duties for the wholesales team.
• Champion end to end operational excellence during assigned shifts.
• Drive process improvement and throughput through leadership on the operations floor.
• Be available to support weekend shifts during peak trading periods.
• Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested.

Description

Work as a leader and manager at our new Warehousing location in Seaford. This is a varied hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the warehouse floor. The role is focussed on the successful receipt, organisation, tracking, picking, packing and delivery of our product, ensuring the premium experience of our customer and the safety of our staff and stock. You’ll be based out of Seaford, Melbourne, reporting into the VIC & SA Warehousing & Logistics Manager, working closely with sales teams and the national customer service teams, your role centres on:

• Managing, coaching and mentoring a team of 4, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
• Organising the day-to-day floor activities of the warehouse including optimising the space available
• Managing the flow of stock through our ERP and WMS systems to ensure records are always accurate and up to date.
• Instilling best practice operations, health and safety and efficient organisation, packaging and labelling of stock.
• Be a champion for fantastic customer service, be that internally for other teams or externally for customers.

Skills & experience

• Established manager with excellent communication skills and a calm manner.
• Minimum 5 years working in a warehousing environment.
