As Purchasing Officer you'll be overseeing purchasing activities, ensuring seamless execution and optimal performance. In close collaboration with our Sourcing team, you'll support roadmap delivery and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives at our Chefgood facility, located in Keysborough (VIC, 3173).

Your role:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of ingredients and packaging materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels, avoiding stock issues, and ensure materials meet food safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supply with production schedules and new product launches.
  • Manage supplier performance reviews, pricing trends, and cost-saving initiatives to meet budget objectives.
  • Identify supply chain risks and develop contingency plans.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and provide regular reports for team reviews.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, preferably within the food industry, with a focus on Ready to Heat or similar meal categories.
  • Knowledge of or experience in sourcing category strategy, supplier relationship management and supplier continuous improvement programs.
  • Clear and compelling written and verbal communication.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other departments.
  • Strong analytical skills for managing budgets and assessing supplier performance.
  • Knowledge of food safety and quality standards.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
