About the Job
The General Manager of People Solutions and Services is pivotal in driving operational excellence within the P&C department. This strategic leader will focus on optimising service offerings, enhancing employee experiences, and improving accuracy and efficiency in all operational processes – as well as strategically leading the remuneration and reward function. As a member of the P&C Leadership Team, this role acts as a driving force behind continuous improvement initiatives and the implementation of a robust P&C service model.
Thought Leadership and Strategic Advisor
- Provide visionary yet pragmatic thought leadership to advance Rest’s People agenda, across the domains of HR technology, operations and remuneration.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Executive team and Board, providing insights and recommendations on remuneration matters.
- Acts as a trusted advisor to the CPO, provide insights and advice on a range of strategic people matters, helping to shape the Rest People agenda
Operational Support
- Champion investment in advanced P&C systems, overseeing their implementation while managing relationships with operational vendors to enhance system efficiency.
- Oversee an adept team responsible for the seamless execution of Rest's employee life cycle processes including onboarding, terminations, employment contracts, and workforce conditions.
- Oversee the payroll function, including outsourced service providers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of services.
- Accountable for the design and execution of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) framework, encompassing the development and deployment of comprehensive wellbeing strategies and practices.
- Proactively manage HR operational vendors and systems
Operational Improvement
- Oversee the Operational Improvement team to pinpoint and enact enhancements in operational procedures throughout the People & Culture domain.
- Craft strategic initiatives to empower employees and managers with self-service capabilities for fundamental P&C functions, thereby elevating the user experience.
- Design and implement a tiered P&C service model
- Establish a robust people data, analytics, and reporting function
Reward
- Design and execute performance and reward strategies, including the creation of relevant frameworks, policies, and plans that encompass remuneration, performance management, and incentive schemes.
- Vigilantly oversee remuneration policies and procedures to guarantee effective design, application, and governance across the company, while maintaining strict compliance with critical regulations such as CPS 511.
- Administer the yearly performance evaluation and remuneration cycle,
- Establish and maintain appropriate remuneration benchmarking practices
- Take responsibility for drafting and presenting papers to the People, Culture & Remuneration Committee.
Leadership
- Establish clear team objectives that contribute to the broader People & Culture strategy, fostering an environment of accountability and excellence.
- Oversee the team’s budget, optimising resource allocation to maximise the effectiveness of talent and capability programs.
- Provide regular, constructive coaching and feedback to team members, facilitating professional development and career progression.
