Position Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Steel Fixer to join our team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects in and around Adelaide.
Key Responsibilities
• Construct and assemble formwork for concrete structures and foundations.
• Measure, cut, bend, and shape reinforcement bars (rebar) and mesh to the required specifications.
• Securely tie steel bars using various tying methods and tools such as wire or welding.
• Position and secure rebar within formworks or concrete moulds for walls, columns, slabs, foundations, and other structures.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and project specifications.
• Collaborate with other construction professionals and tradespeople.
Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in steel fixing.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
