About the role:

The Assistant Accountant supports the finance team in the financial management, control and operation of CDC Data Centres.

The role involves preparation, reconciliation, and analysis of accounting records. The role delivers value through timely provision of accurate and relevant information and analysis, thereby supporting CDC's decision making.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Maintain the general ledger, fixed assets, and structure within the finance system, including preparing and posting general journals and managing ledgers up to consolidated financial statements.
  • Complete month-end tasks and reconciliations, including balance sheet accounts for inter-company loans, prepayments, and fixed assets, and provide relevant reconciliations and analysis for Balance Sheet and P&L accounts.
  • Analyse movements in Balance Sheet and P&L accounts and provide ad hoc reporting as needed.
  • Oversee billing transactions to ensure accurate processing of customer invoices, monthly income in advance billings, sundry income, and subleases.
  • Set up new customers, change orders, and other modifications in the system promptly, assisting in issue resolution.
  • Reconcile group bank accounts daily, resolve reconciling items, and assist in the collections process for overdue debts.

About you: 

This role would be suitable for a candidate who has a Finance, Accounting or Commerce degree and commencing/working towards your CA/ CPA qualification.

 

  • Previous working exposure within a financial reporting-based position.
  • Possess strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Approach tasks with an investigative and analytical mindset, ensuring accuracy and completeness in outcomes.

Essential:

  •  Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
