About the role

We are looking for a competent refrigeration mechanic who likes to challenge their knowledge and is willing to learn on water cooled refrigeration equipment.
Your role would be part of a small team. We have 1 x First year apprentice and part of your role is to pass on your knowledge.
We work a 9 day fortnight, so you can have every second Friday off. There are no call outs, but there is overtime occasionally, when we have to finish a project to get a vessel back on the water.
Our work is mostly marine based however the vessels are normally alongside or on the land.
We work on the Service M8 platform for job reporting, ordering etc. experience with this or similar systems would be a benefit. Ultimately, we are looking for you to fill out an accurate report for every job.
Your responsibilities would include
Breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance and new installations for a variety of Marine refrigeration and HVAC systems and equipment
Diagnosing issues and problem-solving solutions
Strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
Processing of reports as required.
Willingness to work overtime hours.
Skills and experience
Our company is seeking a highly motivated individual who enjoys working alongside others and takes pride in their work.
The ideal candidate would also have:
Minimum 5 years' experience in refrigeration
Trade Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
Full ARCTick Licence
Restricted Electrical Licence
White Card
Current Australian Driver’s License
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Intermediate MS Office skills
Police clearance
Ability to obtain federal clearance for our ongoing Naval support
Australian Citizen
