We are seeking an emotionally aware reliable professional who can manage our buffet style kitchen environment providing three meals a day and morning and afternoon teas on occasion for 280 residents.
This role is about being organised and structured to ensure high volume provision in set 2 hour serving time frames.

Selection Criteria
• Recent and significant experience in food preparation.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and managing competing tasks
• Must be competent to work autonomously and have sound judgement and decision-making skills
• Must be creative, innovative and be outcome focused
• Must be computer literate and have an understanding of administrative processes.
• Experience in a collegiate environment and/or education is not a necessity but is an advantage.
• Must be able and willing to direct and lead the catering team when necessary to deliver an exceptional standard of food for the resident body, day in day out.
• Must have an eye for detail and hold a high bar for quality and aesthetics of works performed.
Duties will Include but are not limited to
• Taking part with making menus.
• Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
• Preparing and cooking food
• Seasoning food during cooking
• Storing food in temperature controlled facilities
• Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
• May plan menus and estimate food requirements
• May train other kitchen staff and apprentices
Requirements
• Availability and willingness to work outside standard hours as reasonably required, however we think you will find the hours far better than the hotel/restaurant/casino environment.
• Working with Children Blue Card (or capacity to obtain one)
• Current and satisfactory National Criminal History Records Check
• Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain or update)
Qualifications
• Certificate in commercial cookery
