AKSA Hospitality PTY LTD ISH Restaurant, a 13-Hatted Modern Indian fine dining establishment in Fitzroy, seeks an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include financial management, marketing, health and safety compliance, and strategic planning. Ideal candidates will have strong leadership skills, a minimum of 3 years in restaurant management, and a passion for delivering a memorable dining experience. Task & Responsibilities Team Leadership: Recruiting, training, and supervising restaurant staff, including floor staff, cooks, and cleaning crew. Fostering a positive and collaborative work environment by providing guidance, feedback, and support to team members.  Setting clear expectations and performance goals for staff and holding them accountable for delivering exceptional service. Preferred to have deep understanding of the demographics of the restaurant’s location. Operations Management: Overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and cash handling.  Extensive knowledge of Contemporary Indian Cuisine and preferably knowledge of other cuisines as well and how they can be implemented with Indian food. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and always maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.  Monitoring food quality and presentation to uphold the restaurant's reputation for excellence. Extensive knowledge about Wines and pairing of wines with food. Customer Service: Interacting with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.  Implementing strategies to enhance the overall guest experience and build customer loyalty.  Monitoring online reviews and social media feedback and taking appropriate action to maintain a positive online reputation.  Financial Management: Developing and managing the restaurant budget, including cost control measures and revenue optimization strategies.  Analysing financial reports and sales data to identify areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions.  Working closely with the management team to set pricing strategies and promotions to maximize profitability.  Marketing and Promotion: Collaborating with the marketing team to develop and implement strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.  Planning and executing promotional events and initiatives to drive sales and increase brand awareness in the local community.  Staying informed about industry trends and competitor activities to remain competitive in the market.  Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards. Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative duties such as scheduling, record-keeping, and reporting. Manage reservations and seating arrangements. Strategic Planning: Contribute to long-term business planning and growth initiatives. Implement strategies to achieve restaurant goals and targets. Vendor and Supplier Relations: Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors. Monitor deliveries and quality of products. Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for staff on new menu items, service techniques, etc. Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork.   Qualification & Experience Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or similar role in the food and beverage industry.  Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  Solid understanding of restaurant operations, including food safety regulations and inventory management.  Certification in Food Safety Supervision for Food Handling and hygiene standards.
