Full-Time Chef

Salary $74,000 to $80,000 plus Superannuation
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Monitor and ensure the preparation, cooking and presentation of all dishes to an exceptional standard across all menus
· Assist in selecting and training staff to ensure smooth operations of the kitchen
· Influence and monitor food costs via portion control, waste minimisation and stock control
· Ensure food and labour costs are estimated appropriately, and stocks are ordered in a timely manner
· Assist in menu review and provide suggestions in designing menus
· Ensure special dietary requirements, including allergy-related requests, are adhered to
· Actively maintain awareness for nutrition and healthy eating
· Ensure safe production measures and food safety guidelines are explained to kitchen staff and are adhered to
· Communicate relevant issues and concerns to relevant kitchen and floor staff, Managers and Directors in a timely manner.
Qualification & Experience
· We are looking for a qualified Chef with relevant industry qualifications such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Kitchen Management and Diploma of Hospitality or equivalent vocational qualifications.
· At least two years of full-time work experience as a Chef or equivalent experience in a similar role. Food Safety Certificate qualification is highly desirable.
Candidates must be:
· Well presented, punctual, hardworking and able to work well under pressure
· Be flexible with days of work, including weekdays and weekends
· Have excellent culinary skills
· Ability to work positively, proactively and safely work alone as well as team-oriented and be able to work with other kitchen and restaurant staff
· Attention to strong standards of hygiene and adherence to food safety practices
