One of our clients, Left Field Eatery, is looking for an experienced Chef. Left Field Eatery in Carnegie, VIC, is a vibrant eatery known for its innovative and delectable dishes. The cafe offers a diverse menu that includes modern Australian cuisine with healthy options and a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients. Popular dishes include the Middle Eastern spiced salmon gravlax, pulled pork brioche, and beetroot-cured ocean trout. The cafe also boasts a range of unique beverages such as specialty lattes and fresh juices.
With a cozy atmosphere and soulful decor, Left Field Eatery has quickly become a favorite in the suburban area, drawing patrons from near and far despite sometimes long wait times due to its popularity. The cafe is celebrated for its all-day breakfast, lunch, and dessert offerings, as well as excellent coffee and vegan/vegetarian options?. Ranked in the top 50 best Melbourne Cafes 2022m it has had both critical and local success. Along with sister cafe Combi in Elwood, the group aspires to give everyone the experience they deserve. The details of the position are as follows:

Position: Chef
Salary: $73,500 - $78,500 plus superannuation
Location: 358 Koornang Rd, Carnegie VIC 3163
Job Type: Permanent position, Full time. Must be available to work on weekends and public holidays.

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Expertly crafting each menu item with precision.
2. Innovating and testing new recipes to diversify the menu.
3. Adapting dishes based on customer feedback and current culinary trends.
4. Rigorously adhering to recipes and standards for all signature dishes to ensure consistent quality.
5. Preparing and organizing all necessary ingredients and materials for cooking.
6. Overseeing kitchen staff to ensure adherence to operational standards.
7. Providing timely training to kitchen staff as required.
8. Coordinating and managing the kitchen team effectively.
9. Efficiently managing order flow through the kitchen using the docket system.
10. Maintaining a clean and orderly workspace, ensuring top-notch hygiene and sanitation throughout the kitchen.

To be considered for this role, your key skills, and attributes must include:
1. Possesses appropriate qualifications with a minimum of two years of professional experience.
2. Holds a Certificate IV in Cookery or an equivalent higher trade qualification.
3. Demonstrates adeptness in maintaining focus and effectively leading teams in high-pressure environments.
4. Skilled in menu planning and cost management.
5. Must possess unrestricted working rights in Australia.
