Infinite Manufacturing Pty Ltd is a local Australian company located in Rowville, VIC. They now seek an experienced Metal Machinist to join their team.
The Role
This is a full time role with an annual salary set at $80,000 plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
Some tasks may include:
Interpreting blueprints and specifications to determine the most appropriate materials, machining processes, and sequences of operations required for each task
Selecting suitable metal stock for machining tasks, including assessing the material properties required for the final product and preparing the metal stock for machining
Setting up machine tools for operation, including adjusting guides, stops, and other controls to ensure precision during the machining process
Programming computer numerical control (CNC) machines with the precise movements and operations needed to manufacture parts to exact specifications
Operating various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, and shape the metal into the desired parts with fine tolerances
Using precision measuring instruments such as micrometres, callipers, and gauges to check the dimensions and tolerances of machined parts
Assembling metal parts and subassemblies to construct complete machines and equipment
Cutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
Preparing and setting up pattern mechanisms for textile machines
Diagnosing mechanical faults, performing routine operational maintenance
Undertaking the overhaul and repair of mechanical parts, fluid power equipment, and other machine components
Applying various welding and metal joining techniques as required during the fabrication or repair of machine parts and assemblies
Performing surface finishing operations, such as polishing and coating
Ensuring all machining, assembly, and maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulations
Maintaining accurate records of machining operations, adjustments, and maintenance activities
The Requirements:
Certificate III in relevant trade qualification
Able to interpret complex engineering blueprints and specifications
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a high-precision machining environment
At least 3 years’ experience in multi-axis CNC programming and operation.
At least 3 years’ experience with advanced measurement tools and techniques
Proficiency in using CAD/CAM software.
Strong knowledge of metallurgy and material science, especially exotic alloys and composites
Familiarity with industry 4.0 standards and practices.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently
Have at least 2 contactable work referees
