About the role
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Contracts Administrator is responsible for managing and controlling all procurement and contract administration services for all contracts.
Working as part of an experienced team, duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage all cost and contractual matters ensuring project costs, revenues, claims, and supplier agreements are administered
- Initiate, review, analyse plan and administer the closing of contracts
- Working with all parties to ensure the best possible Commercial outcome is achieved
- Maintain a good working relationship with clients and subcontractors while negotiating and managing the head contract and
subcontractors for the project
- Influence and lead others in the team to produce high quality project outcomes
- Ensure that delivered products comply with contract specifications and recording and reporting on any non-conformances
- Ensure payment schedules are processed in accordance with the Security of Payment Act
- Measuring and approving subcontract progress payments
- Undertake monthly financial reports relating to cost and budget
- Assist with construction claims and dispute resolution matters
- Monitor any change during the construction phase, assessing effects on cost, measuring values and negotiating any variations
- Ability to engage with the project team effectively and attend site meetings
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
- At least 2 years’ relevant working experience in major infrastructure projects with in-depth knowledge and experience in contract
administration and claims management.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks and simultaneously,
- Ability to set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands
- Strong communication skills including strong negotiation and influencing skills
