Gammon Group Pty Ltd t/a Little Lofty Cafe is a brand new cafe located within a vibrant and supportive community and seats approximately 70 people inside and out, with around 10 staff in total ranging form kitchen and front of house staff.

We are seeking to grow our Wonga Park team with an experienced Head Chef joining us in a full time role.

To be successful, applicants must hold a Certificate III & IV in Hospitality and have at least 2 years' experience as a Chef.

Applicants must possess a range of skills and competencies to excel in the culinary field:
- They should be adept at creating unique and innovative menu items while ensuring all dishes meet stringent food safety standards.
- Proficiency in various cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment usage is essential, along with the ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- High attention to detail is crucial for consistent portion sizes and presentation, and a professional demeanor is required at all times.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, along with a willingness to take constructive criticism and continuously improve, are vital.
- Holding relevant qualifications and experience in the hospitality industry, the chef should have a proven track record of working in reputable establishments.
- Adaptability and innovation are key, with the ability to experiment with new ingredients and techniques while keeping up-to-date with the latest culinary advancements.
- Strong time management and organizational skills are necessary to efficiently manage tasks and workload in a fast-paced environment.
- These competencies ensure that the chef not only excels in culinary skills but also adheres to the highest standards of food safety and professionalism.

The Head Chef is responsible for creating, designing, and cooking dishes in accordance with the cafe's menu, ensuring that each dish meets the cafe's quality, taste, and presentation standards. They oversee the kitchen staff, including training and supervising kitchen assistants, and manage inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper stock rotation to maintain efficiency and minimize waste. Additionally, the chef manages the rosters of Back of House staff in consultation with the cafe owners to ensure smooth kitchen operations. They must comply with all food safety and hygiene standards and regulations, implementing and maintaining strict cleanliness and sanitation practices. These duties ensure that the chef maintains high culinary standards while effectively managing kitchen operations and staff.

A salary of $73,500 - $75,000 will be offered to the successful applicant.
