We are hiring! The Fitter (General) will be responsible for assembling, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment within our manufacturing facility. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our production lines, minimizing downtime, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Position: Fitter (General)
Location: Dandenong South, VIC
Salary: $73,000 - $75,000 plus superannuation
Key Responsibilities:
• Assemble and fit parts to machinery and equipment according to specifications.
• Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, providing effective solutions.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure machinery is set up correctly and safely.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Fitter (General) or in a similar mechanical role with minimum 2 years of work experience
• A Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter and Turner) is the standard qualification recognized in Australia. However, other relevant engineering qualifications may also be considered, depending on the specific tasks and responsibilities of the role.
• A skills assessment conducted by Trades Recognition Australia (TRA).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full working rights within Australia.
