Our client, Indian Essence, is looking for a skilled Chef to join their team on a full-time basis. Specialising in authentic Indian cuisine, the restaurant is renowned for its rich flavours, vibrant spices, and diverse array of dishes, promising indulgent experiences that captivate food enthusiasts.

Located at Glenroy, Victoria 3046, the Indian Essence enhances its appeal, offering a refined ambience ideal for various gatherings. Indian Essence's commitment to excellence in both its cuisine and service underscores its reputation as a must-visit for connoisseurs seeking authentic Indian dining experiences.

Salary:
$70,000 to $80,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Must hold a Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery and a Diploma of Hospitality.
• Must have over 2 to 3 years of local experience in a similar culinary environment is required.
• Must possess the ability to lead a team and maintain high standards under pressure.
• Must have a strong knowledge of North Indian cuisine and the latest food trends.
• Should have excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with customers and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design and implement seasonal menus that reflect the restaurant's North Indian cuisine.
• Prepare high-quality dishes that ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
• Oversee the kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Train and mentor kitchen staff to uphold the highest standards of food quality and hygiene.
• Manage ingredient inventory and procurement to minimise waste and optimise freshness.
• Adapt and develop new recipes to enhance the menu and satisfy diverse palates.
• Ensure the presentation of dishes is visually appealing and consistent with brand standards.
• Handle special dietary requests and allergies with careful attention to detail.
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment at all times.
• Collaborate with the front of the house to provide exceptional guest experiences.
• Monitor food and labour costs to stay within budget constraints.
