They are now looking for an experienced Mixed Crop Farmer to join their team.
The Role
The position is for a Mixed Crop Farmer on a full-time basis with an annual salary set between $70,000 to $75,000, depending on experience including superannuation.
Responsibilities
Planning and coordinating the planting, cultivating, and harvesting of crops
Managing crop rotation practices to optimize soil fertility and prevent pest and disease buildup.
Monitoring and maintaining irrigation systems, ensuring crops receive adequate water.
Applying fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides as needed, following safety guidelines and regulations.
Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment, such as tractors, Plows, and harvesters.
Monitoring market conditions to determine the best times for planting, harvesting, and selling crops.
Keeping records of planting, growing, and harvesting activities for financial and regulatory purposes.
Managing livestock, if applicable, including feeding, breeding, and disease prevention.
Implementing sustainable farming practices to minimize environmental impact and conserve natural resources.
Supervising and coordinating the work of farm labourers during planting and harvesting seasons.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture
At least 3 years of proven experience in planning and coordinating crop
At least 3 years of experience as mixed crop Farmer in a commercial capacity
At least 3 years experience in maintaining farm infrastructure, including buildings, fences, equipment, and water supply systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Practicing safe work practices
Must be physically fit as job requires performing physically demanding tasks.
Proven track record of reliability- references required
Demonstrated knowledge of the best safe work practices
