Indreni Pty Ltd operates three venues across the Sydney metropolitan area, with two located in Rockdale and one in Kogarah. We are currently seeking to fill two full-time positions within our company, each requiring 38 hours per week. Specifically, we have openings for a Chef and a Cook.
CHEF:
Salary $80,000 plus super per year
Skills/Qual/Exp required: Minimum relevant trade qualification (Cert. IV) with 2 years’ experience as a Chef on a full-time basis (within the last 5 years). Alternatively, at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.
Duties of Chef:
- Designing menu, estimating and evaluating ingredient and labour costs, and acquiring supplies.
- Designing daily specials and attending to dietary requirements for guests such as allergies and creating alternative menus for large scale functions and events.
- Verifying quality control at every step, from ingredient prep to final presentation.
- Collaborating on solutions for kitchen challenges with the head chef, nutrition experts, and all team members.
- Sharing cooking skills and offering guidance on preparing dishes to the cooks.
- Executing recipes, bringing dishes to life and transforming ingredients into delicious meals.
- Communicating and upholding best practices for food safety and guiding team members on proper hygiene techniques and holding them accountable.
- Play a role in recruiting and developing the kitchen team.
- Prepare food for long-term storage through freezing and implement freezing as a preservation technique.
COOK:
Salary $75,000 plus super per year
Skills/Qual/Exp required: Minimum relevant trade qualification (Cert. IV) with 2 years’ experience as a Cook on a full-time basis (within the last 5 years). Alternatively, at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.
Duties of Cook:
- Maintaining food quality: Making sure all ingredients are fresh and safe to eat.
- Temperature control: Ensuring ovens, grills and other equipment cook food at the right temperature.
- Cooking expertise: Preparing and cooking food following proper techniques for safety and authentic taste as per Chef’s instructions. Calculating the amount of food needed to serve customers.
- Flavour development: Adding seasonings throughout the cooking process for an excellent dining experience.
- Plating and presentation: Dividing cooked food into portions, arranging them on plates, and adding finishing touches like sauces and decorations.
- Safe storage: Keeping cooked or leftover food at proper temperatures to prevent spoilage.
- Dietary needs: Accommodating specific dietary restrictions like allergies or vegetarian preferences.
- Team training: Assist the Chef in training kitchen staff
