The overall scope of the position is to carry out service and repairs to customer and company owned Elevating Work Platform machines, telehandlers and lighting towers in the workshop and in the field when requested, based at our Hallam branch in VIC.
Below are essential duties & responsibilities which are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
- Evaluating performance of equipment
- Inspecting designs and finished products for compliance with specifications
- Installing, testing, repairing and modifying electronic and hydraulic equipment
- Conducting pre delivery inspections and assessing machines to ensure they are in good working order
- Conduct repairs and maintenance of customer and JLG owned elevating work platforms and telehandlers
- Abide by specific site instructions including Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental policies
- Responsible for completing all appropriate paperwork and inspection forms required by Australian Standards and also by customer and/or site requirements
- Conduct three monthly and annual inspections of machines in accordance with JLG and Australian industry standards
- General ad-hoc duties as required
To be successful, you need to have:
- Previous experience in a similar role – experience with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical advantageous
- Trade qualification in elevating work platform technology, heavy vehicle, diesel, automotive, auto electrical or related field
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal
- Proficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy including the ability to write job notes, read safety information, machine manuals and understand basic numeracy such as time, parts numbers and quantities
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Working at heights license
As part of this role, you will have some physical requirements which are:
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Climbing in and out of baskets and machines
- Operation of access equipment including working at heights
- Lifting, carrying parts
- Twisting, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling
- Use of computer, hand tools and lots of manual handling is involved.
