Job Purpose:

Applied EV is looking for an experienced commercially minded Financial Planning Analyst who can support the senior leadership team to grow the business. 

The Role: 

This role will be involved in a range of activities across the business including, but not limited to:

  • Preparation and management of complex financial modelling on existing, developing and proposed business initiatives.
  • Assistance in business case development, with a focus on commercial outcomes to meet business growth opportunities.
  • Providing analysis and interpretation of external and internal data to assist development of commercial strategies and opportunities.
  • Supporting the preparation of commercial contracts, negotiations and management with relevant financial data and analysis.
  • Supporting & providing guidance to the business in managing commercial issues, with a focus on process & procedural improvements.
  • Contribute to business presentations and reports for internal and external use.
  • Assist in preparation of periodic reports and information such as:
    • reports for board and senior management,
    • data/information for internal stakeholders,
    • Q&A preparation and copy for internal and external communications.

You will demonstrate:

  •  A track record of being involved with strategic projects with a degree of ambiguity (i.e. where to play, how to win)
  • Intellectual curiosity and a learning mindset, with a passion for solving complex problems and ‘making sense’ of the world.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, with a passion for developing creative fact-based growth strategies, whilst demonstrating excellent business acumen.
  • The ability to build and foster strong relationships with the senior leadership team and operational management, understanding what is happening at ground level across the business.

Skills and Competencies: 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Accounting or related field.  Post graduate qualifications a bonus.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • 5+ years of FP&A experience, including modelling, forecasting and business case analysis ideally within the technology, startup or an entrepreneurial focused industry.
  • Highly developed conceptual reasoning capabilities, problem-solving skills, commercial acumen, quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Superior communication, facilitation, influencing and interpersonal skills, are essential to building constructive relationships and credibility with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office and financial management software
  • Sound understanding of related statutory and corporate governance processes.
  • Excellent organization, communication, written, influencing, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • A strong analytical ability and being able to articulate the findings to key stake holders. 
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, with a passion for developing creative fact-based growth strategies whilst managing ambiguity in a dynamic environment.
