Purpose of your role
As the Engineering & Platform Manager, Cloud and Data, you will lead a team of cloud and data engineers to deliver technology platforms for OFX. You will build a skilled, motivated team to work in autonomous, cross-functional, and empowered delivery teams. You will work with product managers, other engineering managers, and subject matter experts to deliver impactful outcomes for OFX. You will be responsible for upholding the highest software engineering principles, practices, and quality throughout the engineering teams, adopting quality as part of the engineering discipline, and continuously improving cloud and data engineering practices.
What you do
- Ensure all direct reports have clear and measurable objectives which adhere to the divisions approach and relate to team, product and organisational metrics
- Mentoring direct reports in how their role contributes to wider business strategy and Technology objectives to ensure individuals are empowered to align their own actions with the overall business outcome
- Work closely with the Product teams who will work with the cloud and data environments to ensure connection between the product vision, and the cloud and data technologies
- Ensure customer focus for all work planned and delivered in responsible teams
- Ensure that product teams follow operational excellence in cloud production environments
- Ensure all product platforms are secure, reliable, and built to scale
- Set effective metrics and delivery methodologies in Delivery teams to ensure success
- Management and mitigation of technology risks using proper governance
- Lead engagement with vendors and partners within specified domain to ensure delivery of OFX’s business outcomes.
- Set a Technical vision for the platforms/products in the cloud and data area
- Ensure engineering and other practices and processes are set, evolved, and adhered to by your Delivery Teams
- Facilitate architectural direction and decision making
- Work with engineering teams to evolve the tools used within the Data area, considering the broader OFX landscape
