We are currently looking for qualified full-time Cooks who are experienced in the preparation and cooking of Japanese cuisine to join our established team.
The successful candidates must be available to work both day and night shifts, have in-depth knowledge in the preparation and cooking of various popular Japanese cuisines, have at least 24 months of employment experience in similar busy commercial kitchen operations, and possess a qualification which is at least equivalent to an Australian Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or similar.
The duties to be carried out by the successful candidates will include:
· Prepare and cook various Japanese cuisines from the restaurant’s menu as per the customers' orders
· Prepare sushi rice, soup, various Japanese sauces, and a variety of common Japanese menu items including tempura, katsu, roll, sushi, nigiri and sashimi
· Assist in the management of junior kitchen staff
· Assist in the cleaning of the kitchen areas, storeroom and refrigerators, and to ensure correct procedures of stock rotation are used in the kitchen
· Regularly checked all food items to ensure adequacy and quality at all times
· Assist in recording inventory and keep records of ingredients used
· Maintained a clean and safe work environment
· Worked together in a team-oriented environment to produce foods in a timely and orderly fashion
· Use considerable knowledge of health and safety procedures in food preparation
· Ensured that all cooked food are presented in a neat and appetizing manner
