About the Business

About the Role
Our client is currently seeking applications for full-time Electronic Instrument Trades Worker located at Burdekin area.
Under the general supervision of the Electrical/Instrumentation Workplace Coordinator and/or Electrical Engineer, the incumbent is required to work as a member of the Electrical Team and is responsible for safely providing electrical services to support the manufacture of raw sugar. This person is expected to apply their higher-level trade skills providing it is legal, logical and safe to do so.

Key tasks include:
• Installs, repairs, maintains, and tests equipment within training level providing it is legal, logical and safe to do so
• Installation, calibration and maintenance of pneumatic, electronic and microprocessor based process control systems hardware, including controllers, transmitters and final control devices, signal processing, power conditioning and field input/output interface equipment.
• Maintenance of digital and analog process control system programs using appropriate software packages.
• Installation, maintenance and calibration of analytical process variable transmitters for the measurement of process variables such as pH, conductivity and dissolved oxygen.
• Commissioning and tuning of process control systems.
• Isolation, removal and overhaul of control valves.
• Fault finding of complex process control systems involving some combination of pneumatic, electronic, microprocessor based and/or mechanical subsystems.
• Process fault finding and troubleshooting where the operation of the instrumentation is suspected faulty.
• Basic repair, calibration and maintenance of laboratory and miscellaneous analytical instrumentation.
• Providing technical support and assistance in areas of instrumentation and process engineering to tradespersons, engineers and process workers from other departments.
• Supporting the planning of slack season maintenance program with an emphasis on process control Instrumentation, communication and CCTV systems.
• Training of Instrument/Electrical tradespersons, GMWs, apprentices and any other appropriate personnel.
• Liaising with tradespersons, engineers and process workers from other departments.
• Operate in a work-based team environment and participate in other teams and panels as required, identify problems, seek and recommend improvements, implement corrective actions.

Qualifications and Skills
• Completed qualification in Instrumentation or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of proven relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of Workplace, Health and Safety in a Manufacturing environment
• Working at Heights
• Works under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment.

For the right candidate, the salary ranged from $70,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation is on offer.
