Squiz is looking to add a software engineer (PHP) to join our business applications team. Playing a key role in designing, developing and maintaining Squiz’s inhouse business systems. This is a great opportunity to work with various teams across the business i.e. HR, finance etc. 

Who you are:

For this role, we ask that you can demonstrate the following:

• Mid-Senior level PHP development experience
• Experience using coding frameworks (e.g Laravel, Lumen)
• Strong SQL skills (MySQL) (Must have)
• Experience with Javascript
• Solid exposure and understanding of Integration concepts (REST APIs, Zapier or similar product exp)
• Proficient Linux skills (command lines as a min)
• Testing experience (Unit Tests, UAT etc)

Nice to have:

• Docker, Terraform
• Newer Javascript framework experience - ideally Vue
• Exposure to finance/ERP systems

What you would do:

• Designing, developing and maintaining integrations for global platforms, systems and services using a broad range of technologies
• Designing, developing and maintaining internal business systems
• Testing systems and integrations for security and reliability
• Collaborate and review code with other developers in the team
• Working directly with our Business Analyst to ensure our data and business processes align
• Troubleshoot tickets and bugs related to our internal applications, integrations and automated processes.
• Assist in refactoring and optimisation of legacy codebases and integrations.
• Troubleshooting and writing MySQL queries to assist with reporting.

About the role:

We are looking for a Technical Solutions Engineer to provide thought leadership, planning, management, and technical design development for our customer’s and support their migration to/growth within CDC’s Data Centre Facilities. The incumbent will be a Data Centre Engineering SME and will be deployed across the business in technical discovery, customer response preparation and major change consultation.

Key responsibilities include:

•      Work with internal teams to respond to requests from customers and to respond in bid scenarios.

•      Liaise directly with customer technical teams in support of the Head of Engineering Innovation.

•      Assist with hyperscale pre-sales opportunities as required.

•      Provide advice and support to stakeholders and cross functional teams throughout the sales lifecycle.

•      Prepare data centre engineering briefing infromation to ensure alignment between key customer and or CDC Business requirements and project deliverables.

•      Collaborate with the CDC Engineering Delivery Design team to customise and configure design to meet customer specific needs.

•      Participate in the data centre engineering Concept Design phase to ensure alignment between key customer requirements and project deliverables.

•      Manage the development of key customer sales collateral.

•      Gather and relay customer feedback to appropriate parities.

•      Articulate, capture and escalate risk to the Head of Engineering Innovation. 

•      Contribute to CDC Engineering strategy regarding innovation and Data Centre Engineering best practice. 

•      Continually seek out opportunities for innovation for both CDC and its customers.

•      Grow internal networks and provide opportunities to share knowledge and improve performance.

•      Development and management of relationships alongside our Sales teams to identify, coordinate, and win business.

•      Act in an ambassadorial capacity for the company.

•      Attend and contribute to appropriate team and stakeholder meetings and committees as required and relevant to ensure excellent stakeholder engagement and communication.

•      Function as part of a team that occasionally requires work to be completed outside of normal business hours.

•      Embrace and model CDC’s DNA and Leadership Fundamentals and mentor and impart knowledge to junior staff.

•      Provide cultural and operational team leadership.

•      Other duties as directed from time to time.

About you:  

•      5+ years’ relevant experience in Data Centre Engineering Design with a degree qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 10+ years total engineering experience

•      Technical solutions experience in Data Centre engineering or critical infrastructure environments.

•      Strong experience in designing and implementing hyperscale data centre engineering developments and customer deployment solutions. 

•      Experience in optimizing and evaluating data centre engineering design for time and cost efficiency.

•      Strong understanding of Data Centre Engineering principles and industry standard design architectures.  

•      Demonstrable track record in pre-sales or post sales.

Essential:

• Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA Security Clearance at Negative Vetting 1 level.

• Partner with project and program managers to meet overall timelines and resolution of issues.
