We’re Hiring an Electrical Engineer (Renewable Energy)!
Are you passionate about renewable energy and looking to make a difference in the solar industry? Billabong Solar is seeking a talented and driven Electrical Engineer to join our team. You will play a vital role in the design, planning, and execution of solar energy projects, collaborating with project managers and installers to ensure seamless integration and high performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical support to solar installers and electricians, ensuring projects meet company quality standards.
2. Oversee the procurement and tracking of inventory for various solar projects.
3. Coordinate between project managers and installers to ensure engineering requirements are met.
4. Assist with client consultations, including site inspections, pre-sale documentation, and project planning.
5. Support the preparation of tenders, contracts, and research for photovoltaic and battery storage systems.
6. Design solar systems for commercial and residential clients, adhering to CEC standards and using tools such as Nearmap and Solar Proof.
7. Perform electrical engineering tasks, including inverter and panel selection, mounting system design, cable sizing, and shading analysis.
8. Provide performance estimates and quotations for solar systems to the sales team.
9. Offer technical support for system faults and warranty claims, liaising with electricians to resolve issues.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
2. At least 3 years of experience working in the renewable energy or solar power industry.
3. Proficiency with design tools such as Solar Proof, Nearmap, and SolarEdge.
4. Strong knowledge of Australian CEC standards for solar installations.
5. Must have full working rights in Australia.
