We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing financial guidance and support to the management team by preparing, analysing, and interpreting financial data and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Working across multiple entities and reporting into the Finance Manager, you will:

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, recording necessary journal entries for month-end processes.

• Assist in preparing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, including monthly/quarterly BAS returns.

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, adhering to accounting standards and regulations.

• Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts, analysing variances and providing recommendations for financial improvement.

• Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including evaluating investment opportunities and capital allocation decisions.

• Provide financial guidance and support to the management team, presenting information in a clear and concise manner to facilitate decision-making.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance, driving financial discipline and process improvement within operational teams.

• Monitor KPIs to track business performance and drive accountability. Implement performance measurement frameworks.

• Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects. Assist in evaluating investment opportunities, pricing strategies, and cost-saving initiatives.

• Identify and mitigate financial risks. Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with policies.

• Streamline financial processes for efficiency. Implement best practices to enhance reporting and analysis.

This position is based in the Mercure Perth Finance hub in the centre of Perth CBD and reports to the Assistant Financial Controller. The role covers the below responsibilities for both the Mercure and Ibis Perth:

• Managing the day full Accounts Payable function, including reconciling and posting Invoices, ensuring all purchasing approvals are in place, periodic payment runs, supplier follow up and statement reconciliation.
• Manage the Payroll input and Reporting Process. Including timely data entry of timesheets, accuracy recording employees details and database maintenance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the relevant Award/ employment contract conditions.
• Prepare the monthly Payroll Tax lodgement
• Assist with EOM close procedure, including finalising monthly payroll reconciliations, updating of Stock valuation reporting, Preparation of Prepayment journals.
• Ensure all Accor Finance Policy and Procedures are adhered.
• Assist the Director of Finance with Internal / External Audit requirements.
• Ad hoc duties across our hotels/ hub to assist the team when required.

We are seeking a highly ambitious payroll accountant to join our finance team in this newly created role.

As a Payroll Accountant overseeing Employment Hero’s internal payroll across multiple geographies, you play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing on an international scale. Your responsibilities include meticulous review of payruns, collaboration with outsourced payroll providers, and coordination with diverse stakeholders across different regions. You will also be working closely with the accounting and compliance teams to ensure payroll-related journals and filings are processed accurately and in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is a great communicator with stakeholder management experience and who has great time management skills to meet deadlines.

As a Payroll Accountant, you will:

• Review payruns from the outsourced payroll provider for multiple geographies (AU, NZ, UK, SG, MY, PH), ensuring compliance with diverse international payroll regulations
• Navigate and understand the complexities of payroll processes across different countries and regions and resolve any issues/discrepancies
• Review WFH expenses
• Processing payroll-related journal entries and filings in a timely manner (eg. PAYG/PAYE, payroll tax, super, workers compensation insurance renewals, etc)
• Serve as primary point of contact for Finance with the rest of the business and external vendors in relation to all payroll matters
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with cashflow forecasting of payroll and payroll-related expenses
• Assist with external audits
• Propose and implement process improvements that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the global payroll review process
• Testing of automated payroll
• Assist with GT payruns, as needed
• Other adhoc duties as needed

What will you bring 

• 2 - 3 years experience in a similar role
• Currently studying for CA/CPA qualification
• Relevant degree in finance/accounting 
• Experience running payroll in Australia and New Zealand is essential; experience running payroll in other geographical areas will be highly advantageous
• Intermediate to Advanced experience with Excel/Google Sheets
• Keypay experience essential

Requirements

• Degree qualified with minimum 2-4 years’ experience in public practice
• CPA or CA qualified
• This role can require some travel to our clients businesses. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle on weekdays is required
• Experience working with small business clients
• Proficiency in Xero and Xero Practice Manager
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to manage a portfolio of clients and review the work of junior staff
