Your day-to-day...

• End to end management of procurement activities on assigned contracts; from internal stakeholder engagement through to contract completion.
• Identify and assess commercial risks with contracts, business deals, and market conditions.
• Assist the implementation of key contractual partnerships and undertake supplier management with key providers.

• Collaborate with all departments, mostly especially with Legal and Finance.

• Support internal stakeholders to raise awareness of Procurement expertise, policies, and procedures.
• Liaise with our UK counterparts on contract consolidation across the group.

You're a match if you ideally have...

• 3+ years procurement experience, managing multiple priorities as a jack of all trades.
• Solid experience enhancing and optimising existing processes to meet the business' operational cadence.
• Confidence and drive to build effective relationships with key stakeholders and external partners at any business level.
• A collaborative spirit and desire to work within a close-knit team, while also being trusted to deliver on specific projects autonomously.
• Flexibility with work hours in order to make calls to potential international partners.
• Knowledge and experience in the wagering industry would be desirable.

This role is based at our office in either Sydney ( Smithfield) or Brisbane (Carole Park) and has responsibility within the Procurement function at an operational level to various Business Units in our Aluminium Division across Australia & New Zealand. There will be ongoing monitoring of supply risk, quality, price and lead times with established and emerging suppliers across New Zealand, Australia, and Asia. The key deliverable of this position is to support effective management of stocked items, contributing to improving inventory availability via a customer-centric but data driven approach. Working as part of a small collaborative team, this is a key role that will have you directly foster and maintain internal customers as well as direct supplier and market trader relationships across the globe in order to maintain a competitive advantage (e.g. time, terms, quality, price etc.). To succeed in this role, you will need to efficiently process import documentation, invoices, shipments, maintain delivery dates, coordinate inward goods, improve upon existing or find innovative new approaches to international shipping and logistics functions.

To be successful in this role:

• Provide a leading role in a client procurement team responsible for procuring multi million dollars of packages on a construction project.
• Strong contract knowledge from initial set up to managing variations and claims.
• Contract formation, contract administration, contract negotiations and claims support.
• Interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
• Manage quotes, purchase orders, the tender process delivery and tender analysis.

As an Associate Director in our Procurement Advisory team, you will be client-facing to build and maintain high-quality relationships with key clients in our target markets. You will play a key role in building our team’s capability and culture. A significant amount of your time will be spent leading consulting/advisory assignments for clients. You will excel in your role as a key contributor and leader in multi-disciplinary advisory teams. Your deep knowledge and experience in procurement, transaction management and contract management will be critical to the success of our work for clients.  

The primary responsibilities of the role are as follows: 

• Developing robust contemporary procurement strategies for our clients’ major projects and programs, helping to assure successful project outcomes and reduce delivery risks.

• Transaction management on major ($300m+) capital projects, setting up projects and programs for success by leading the procurement process.   

• Providing clients with expert contract management skills to support their projects, from initial contract set up through to managing variations and claims. 

• Proactively building networks with other members of the Turner & Townsend team, and with our key clients in the region, becoming a trusted advisor on matters relating to procurement and contract management for capital projects. 

• Contributing to Turner & Townsend’s vision and mission by developing proposals to address client challenges, creating innovative new service offerings, and prudent management of financial performance within your area of the business.   

• Being an active and empathetic leader of integrated advisory teams, taking ownership of commissions from start to finish, and directing and coaching our consulting staff. 

• Making a material contribution to business development and practice development. 

• Creating a collaborative and supportive team environment.
